Finally bought a new 32ds xl as i couldn't resist, only problem is now I'm worried ill lose my town. Could anyone thats actually done the transfer able to talk me through it please?

Hi, I did the same as you and went from a 3DSxl to a new 3DSXL. I also have the game digitally, &( that's what you mean.

It's simple, and you don't lose your town. Go to settings and open up Other Settings, then tab over to the 4th screen and click System Transfer, then click transfer from a system in the 3DS family and follow the onscreen instructions. It might take a while -- mine took about an hour and a half. Enjoy!

I did a system transfer too with a wet 3DS to a new one. I was worried it would quit before all the blocks were transferred. Just like Deekota said, it takes a long time. Just be sure both are fully charged. Better yet is to have them both plugged into a charger.
