Pile of Bones - Chapter 1 Pierce Piercing It was just a regular day, I was just hanging out with Peaches and other people, just like usual. I thought it was a regular day. I never knew anything about today. I never knew it would end up like this. Just when I was talking to Kody about, well, I didn't quite listen to him. Good thing he isn't reading this. I have no clue what that bear can do. Last time we had a bear in this town was before the Grizzly incident. His name is forbidden here. So, anyway, I was talking to Kody, until I heard a scream. I didn't quite know what it is, so I went in the direction of the noise. The noise lead me over to Poppy's house. Was Poppy harmed? Nah, It barely even sounds like her. So I opened the door, and I couldn't believe what I saw.
Yes, I will leave you at the suspenseful part, not just to get attention, but to get some baked ziti. I sure am hungry. Okay, fine, I'll tell you more.
Okay, where were we? Oh yeah, I saw Poppy, but she wasn't quite normal. She had red stains all over her clothes, and some on her fur, and I saw Pierce laying down on the floor, PIERCE-d with a knife. Huh? Huh? Get it? Come on, I worked so hard on that joke! Back to the story. So, I asked Poppy what was going on. She replied with, "Uh... I can explain, you can enjoy your happy life, Bones, i-ignore Pierce, We, uh, were getting in an argument... Bones? Bones?" That's all I could hear from her. I don't know why, but, I know she's such a nice person, too nice to possibly kill someone. This is weird. What's going on? Why did Poppy pierce Pierce? And what did Grizzly do to be so hated among everyone? And... why is Kody staring at me?
Pile of Bones -Chapter 2 Special Delivery Every step I took, Kody got closer, and closer, until he was right in front of me. His face looked more depressed than usual. He whispered, "Do you know anything about the Grizzly incident?" I didn't know what to say, so I answered, "N-no! Of course not!" Kody's frown turned into a smile. "Don't worry about me, I'm just a cub. That's the reason I was allowed in the village. I tried to study every single bit of history about bears not allowed here, but I failed to do it. The only thing I did learn, is that a bear by the name of Grizzly is the reason bears are not allowed, but only a limit of one bear cub." "So, what happened to Pekoe after you moved in?" "P-P-P-PEKOE!? Not good things, not good things at all!" Kody zipped away, leaving a letter behind.
It said it was for Apollo. He must've been trying to deliver it to him. The good news is, I know exactly where he is! The bad news? Axel. My worst enemy. Even worse than Pecan, we'll get to her later. All Axel does most of the time is work out, and just assumes I just eat and sleep all the time. I know I do that a lot, but that's not all I do! He sprinted up to me, with a smile on his face, the complete opposite of what Kody did. "Hey, bro!" He shouted. "Do you know what happened to Kody?" I didn't want to tell him, but I guess I had to. "He ran away because I mentioned Pekoe," I answered. "Pekoe!?" He screamed. "What did you say about that girl? Did you tell him? Or does he already know she's in that dungeon!? With G-word!?" I think he told me a lot. I told him to calm down, and, *sigh,* think about his muscles. After getting him out of the way, I finally got to Apollo. As I gave him the letter, he asked who it was from. I shrugged. As he opened it up, his face became shocked.
Pile of Bones - Chapter 3 P-P-P-P-Problem I looked at what Apollo was so surprised about, and when I saw it, my face became shocked. It read,
" Apollo, remember Pierce? Well, he was acting strange lately. He keeps saying things after every sentence like "I heard after life you get to meet some pretty nice people," or "You wanna be buried there with my time capsule?" He sometimes is staring at me for hours at night, and sometimes even tries to use the fact that he wants to kill a squirrel against Pecan for some reason. Sincerely, Poppy. "
Could this be the reason Poppy killed Pierce? Because he wanted to kill her first? I still don't understand. I looked up at Apollo, and he looked down at me. He looked like he had no clue what was going on, and why a fellow eagle was harming one of the three squirrels in this village. I was afraid if I tell Apollo the dark secret, he'd probably go around telling everyone, and then Poppy would be called a "murderer" by most. She's my friend! I can't let her be haunted for the rest of her life, constantly reminded that she killed an eagle. I made an even smarter choice than telling him. I went home and took a nap.
Some strange noise woke me up. It sounded like Peanut and Portia were arguing, and some banging noises. I heard, "Just because half of us villagers begin with the letter 'P' doesn't mean you have to tell Peaches that Poppy killed Pierce, Peanut! Sure, we just love spreading rumors, but this one? Absolutely not." Looks like Portia knows what happened to... wait WHAT!? Portia knows about the incident!? And so does PEANUT!? Oh no, this is bad. Real bad. Bad to the BONEs! Huh? Huh?
Pile of Bones - Chapter 4 Gone Nuts I got out of bed and opened the door. Peanut and Portia are staring at me. Like I did something wrong. Like I told them a secret. I don't remember telling them anything! I know that Pierce died but I never told anyone! When Peaches came walking around, Peanut tried to run over to her, but she was stopped by Portia. Peanut yelled, "OMIGOSH! PEACHES! THERE'S SOMETHING I NEED TO TELL YOU-" Portia covered her mouth. "You can't go tell Peaches that Pierce is dead," she whispered. Peaches was confused on what was going on. "But you told Peaches the other day that Kody was thinking about moving," Peanut responded. "That's a different level of violence right there." "Peaches! Poppy killed-" "NO!" Portia slammed Peanut's head on my house. "Poppy killed who?" Peaches asked. This is the moment I was in trouble. Portia was in trouble. Poppy was probably in trouble. I started to wonder why they known these facts in the first place. And, Kody is moving out? And I didn't have any food? Everything has gone wrong!
I asked Portia how she knows about the murder, and she replied with, "You kept saying, 'Keep it a secret, keep it a secret! Nobody should know Poppy pierced Pierce!' You said it on your way home, remember? Peanut overheard you, too!" Oh no. I forgot to mention that I kept saying that. I'm in a pickle. Speaking of pickles, I'm still hungry.
"PIERCE!!! SHE KILLED PIERCE!!! HAHAHAHA," Peanut shouted. She sounded insane or something. Peanut ran off, like there was some place she needed to go. Huh. That's strange. I wonder what she's doing. Pile of Bones - Chapter 5 From Peanut's Point of View Peanut exclaimed, "Omigosh! Boss! I told Peaches 'you know what!' Portia tried to stop me, but..." The mysterious man interrupted, "Good work, Peanut. The word should be spread soon. We will make this village fall apart, horses attacking squirrels, squirrels attacking dogs, and dogs attacking elephants. As a reward, I have a special job for you." Peanut got excited, because "special jobs" usually meant the fun ones. The man continued, "Your job is to release the bear." Peanut started to shiver in fear. She knew that Grizzly might kill her and her friends, but, again, the boss said so, so she must follow his orders.
She knew exactly where she needed to go. There's a locked "tornado shelter" by the town hall. Peanut knew what it really was. A dungeon. The man gave her the code a while back, so she entered it in, and opened the door.
Bringing a flashlight, she slowly walked down the stairs, trying not to make a sound. She heard a faint crying noise coming from one of the cells. She went to see what it was. There was a rabbit in the corner of the cell, crouched down, looking at the wall. The rabbit turned around, and its face was... hollow. Peanut zipped away, over to where Grizzly was. There was a key on the ground, nearby the rusty cage. Peanut picked up the key, unlocked the cage, and started running. Grizzly woke up, looking around him. He saw a pink squirrel, zooming up the stairs. He went after the squirrel, not noticing that he broke a cell.
Peaches had a surprised look on her face. Portia went up to her and said, "Look, Peaches, I have to explain. Peanut has to be lying, there's no possible way it could be true. Right, Bones? Bones? Why are you standing there? Are you even awake?" I didn't say a thing. It's either I lie to my own neighbors or possibly be made fun of by Portia. Pile of Bones - Chapter 6 Return of the Eagle Killer My choice? I just grabbed my keys and went inside my house. Peaches and Portia just ended the chat, and walked away. Peaches didn't look too good. I guess Poppy and Pierce were both her friends. I don't know why, but she shook her head and walked in a bit faster pace. It's late at night, so I better get sleeping.
The next day, I went outside to get some fruit, until I saw Portia talking to Poppy about something. "So, how about we kill some time? I just know you're good at killing things," Portia said. Poppy backed up, with a shocked look on her face. She asked, "How do you—who told you that?" Poppy then looked at me. "Don't tell me you told them." I didn't know what to say. My mind was on shaking a tree for a nice, fresh pear. I tried to ignore my friend and went for the pear. I only have one thing to fear. The way back.
I can go far from Poppy and Portia, but then I'd run into Pecan. Out of all the people that begin with "P," she's a demon. I could avoid her, but then run into an angry Poppy. I'm just saying, it's rare when she gets mad. In fact, this is the first time I saw her like this. She knows that I told Portia. She knows that her fate belongs to a dotted dog. She knows where she is going. I know where she is going. A place Grizzly calls "home." "Miss Calm-and-caring" might be over. Actually, she's not mad. I was just making that up. She just looked at me, silently, as I walked home for breakfast.
