So here's something people have been requesting for some time; an aid to mural creation. It's not a replacement for Anicro Desapro, but a complement. Animal Crossing Mural Aid Program, August 5, 2006 version Here's how the program works.
You first set the size of the mural you want to make with the comboboxes in the top middle; it starts on 4x2, but you can go all the way from 1x1 (which is pretty pointless) to the impossible-to-do-in-any-Animal-Crossing-yet 16x16. Then you either load an image file or paste an image from the clipboard using the two main buttons at the top left. The larger the mural you're making, the slower the process of resizing the image will be. The original image will still be in memory, so if you want to try a different size you can change the dimensions and hit the "Rechunk it" button without needing to load/paste it again.
After that, you'll want to transfer the 32x32 image chunks to Anicro Desapro. There are two ways to do this. First, you can right-click on any of the image chunks; this will copy it to memory. You can then right-click on the input image in Anicro Desapro and it will be pasted in. This is probably the quickest way. However, you can also hit the Save Chunks button, and it will save the chunks as a set of BMP files you can load into Anicro Desapro. If you hit Save Chunks and give it the name Bob, it will save files like Bob0000.bmp, Bob0002.bmp and so on, with the first two digits being for the horizontal location and the second two being for vertical location.
I've got some more ideas for it, but I'm sure there are some I haven't thought of, or some silly bugs I've missed. Feel free to tell me here.

I NEED HELP! i have no idea how to send the anicro pattern to acc. i hit save chunks and all it did was save the little squares and then i said, "No What?" I NEED MAJOR HELP

I tried 16x16, but it says Run-time error '340': Control array element '256' doesn't exist. What does that mean??? Did anyone else get it???
