My LOL club just opened.  I can't speak to the DJ and the weird looking guy that built it just keeps asking me to dance. LOL - literally.  How do I get the music?

You have to wait until 8PM Saturday night and then ask KK Slider to play a song! You can choose by name, mood, or have him choose it at random. After he is done playing, he will give you the song!

Also note that you can only get one song per character per week. And know that if you want to get the gold badge for his concert, you need to go a total of 100 weeks. And he will only play K.K. Birthday the Saturday right before your birthday (or on it if it falls on a Saturday), and automatically without asking if you have a request.

Okay - so I went to see KK Slider tonight. How do I check if he gave me a song?  He doesn't do anything but ask if I want to hear another one?  Which one does he give me and how do I look it up?

Just check your pockets there should be a music note of the song you got.

Check the Happy Home Showcase for Songs on the Wall.
I placed the Happy Birthday and few other Songs on my walls for players that streetpass me.
I've found songs there to complete my collection.

When Timmy and Tommy upgrade their store to T&T Emporium they will have two random songs on sale every day
