Here's the situation:

My son and I are "Best Friends" and used to be able to play using the "Faraway" option when selecting a town to visit. We are in the same house and now it seems that we only show up for each other when choosing the "Nearby" option. The reason this stinks is that my Mum and my sisters don't reside in the same house, nor do they live near us. This was a cute way to all hang out from time to time. Now, if my hunch is correct, the only way to still do this is have one of my sisters or my Mum host. That's a real bummer, as I love to host. I have worked very hard to make my town look good, where as almost everyone else has focussed on other things. Is there anyone that knows why this is? It won't even show me when he's online now. Is there anyone who can verify this is the same for them?

Unfortunately, this could be for many different reasons.


Here are a couple things that may help solve the problem.

Are you sure that both consoles have the same system version and New Leaf update version? Are both wireless switches turned on on both consoles? Do both consoles have connection to the Internet? Does your son still have you on his friends list, and do you still have him on yours?
