For my fellow adults, I'm curious to know what line of work you're in.
Me, I am a Series 7 and Series 63 licensed investment professional, working for Vanguard. I ended up there after being contacted by a recruiter after being laid off from a previous job. I impressed them, and they asked me to take the licensing tests, which I passed. After that, I was hired.

Maybe I don't know what else to say, and maybe I should say I'm sorry.
I am for all the things I did today, that made you feel so empty-hearted.
At the moment I design storm water structures on new developments. Most of the time this entails creating retention ponds and systems of concrete pipes to funnel the water where you want to place it. I enjoy it, the job is about 60% indoors, and the rest spent outside on site visits. A good combo for me!
Justin, what kinds of boards do you sell? I skated back in high school, I used to ride an Element board. Fun times!
Murphy2: Little Canadian brand Kitsch is always a bestseller. Local brands. Primitive, Palace, Deathwish are always pretty hot too.

What a super small world. I work really, really close to a vanguard building in PA. Not sure if it's the same, but really cool nonetheless. Always in to see people near by with similar interests and whatnot.
I'm a cook in a smallish pub/restaurant. I'll have my degree in culinary this spring and hopefully progress there. I've also spent time in the kitchen at a country club and making the savory line of a small bakery run smoothly. I love what I do so much.

Been working in the hospitality industry for 4 years! I'm currently one of the managers at a hotel! But I'm looking for jobs outside of the industry now to broaden my horizon.
Currently a Residence Service Representative at a university residence (Not as flashy as it sounds, trust me. ). Hoping to be full time in a little while; I have to apply for it, but considering I've worked the job for four years now, I think I'm probably the most qualified applicant. Tend to work the night shift, so I look after the night audit and I do all the cleaning in the main lobby. It's a good time!

I do web and android development. I did a bit of print layout for a while there, but right now I'm focused almost entirely on beefing up my android capabilities. Programming in general has always been a fascination for me!
It has it's perks. I solve software cases for different organizations my company supports. Recently, they decided to move to 24-hour support with two 12-hour shifts. Guess who got the night shift - me that's who. So, from 6 PM to 6 AM, I sit at my desk, solve (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) the cases I have, and answer the phone if it rings (if it does, it's usually an emergency). Such calls are rare though.
The big kicker is over the weekend. No cases come in, so basically, I'm coming in to take up space for 12 hours. And they pay me for it too.

I actually have a somewhat similar job, albeit for entirely different reasons. I currently work front desk at a residence, which at its worst means I deal with developing situations that can require anything from basic first aid to the police, but usually it just means sitting behind a desk, perusing TV Tropes and not really doing anything. If I'm lucky, I have an idea for something to write. It's a little easier on the night shift, because then at least I'm not monitored and have more freedom, and I also have more tasks (cleaning, etc.). So I definitely understand the catch-22 nature of that sort of job.

I work for an insurance company, but don't hate me yet !! I'm just admin in the office. The boss also has a company building and selling websites, and I'm invoicing/AR for that. I've done something lately for his third company, they import and sell health foods. And he's also involved in a radio station, but that's nothing to do with me [yet !!] ...

I work for a hospital in patient registration. I'm the person that goes into a patient's room to collect patient demographics, emergency contact information, insurance and copayment.
I'm cross trained in the emergency room registration, admitting registration, and radiology. I'm very excited, because this week I'm going to be training in the registration department for outpatient surgery. Same type of registration, just different codes to memorize.

I am a local police officer here in Florida. I will tell you, at least where I live/work, it is nothing like what you see on TV or in the movies. And I absolutely LOVE it. I like to tell people it's the worst paying acting job in the world.
