I'm torn on buying a Wii U sometime in the next month or waiting less than a year getting the new system NX. There are a lot of good games out for the Wii U (Yoshi Wooly World, MarioKart 8, Splatoon, Super Smash Bros, Pokemon Tournament, Pikmin 3, Super Mario Bros U) Just to name a few.
The price of the Wii U has come down and you can definitely get a used one for a really good price. So should I take the plunge and get one? OR wait for the new system NX?
We know next to nothing about the NX. We don't know if it'll be backwards compatible or not. The Wii U does have a lot of good games as you just listed so if you want to play them then go for it. Knowing Nintendo the NX probably won't have anything at launch (besides Zelda, but that's also releasing on Wii U) so now would be a great time to get a used Wii U at a decent price.
I mean I'd buy a Wii U because it's great and has a lot of good games+I found myself catching up on a lot of stuff with the Virtual Console and everything on there. But I don't think taking the NX into account is a smart thing because we don't know anything about it
Okay good points guys! You think paying $275 is expensive for:
Super Smash Brothers Wii U Splatoon Super Mario Maker Yoshis Wooly World Wii U Game Pad Yoshi Amiibos (2) Cords and charging dock Game pad holder 32 GB Wii U
I never really play my Wii U that much. Occasionally I'll play Splatoon or Super Mario Maker, but that's about it. Maybe you should wait for NX. If you don't think the NX is good after a year of it being out, then buy a Wii U.

I actually ended up buying a 32 GB Black Wii U with: 2 Pro Controllers Nyko Charging Base Super Mario 3D World Bayonetta 2 which also includes a copy of the original Bayonetta 1 Nintendoland Hyrule Warriors Super Smash Brothers for Wii U The Legend of Zelda - The Windwaker HD All the cables and everything else that originally comes with a brand new one.
For $320.00 I figured that was a good price, because at GameStop a pre-owned one is $232.00 and you get no games with it, but if you buy a new one for $299.99 you get one free game.
Most of the games I'm getting are still around $40-$50 bucks.
You made a great decision! I don't play with my Wii U a whole lot recently (mostly because I also own an Xbox One and PS4 with a giant backlog) but if/when you get to play Splatoon, you will become very addicted to it.
I'm honestly pumped for the NX although we really know nothing about it, but I kinda hope that it doesn't launch with Animal Crossing or anything amazing besides Zelda because I'm not sure how broke I will be next March.
