I sometimes play City Folk since my villagers can be fun and I've started trying to complete my catalog one hundred percent. However, some items are only obtainable from Katie who only shows up after visiting friends via WiFi which has since been shut down for The Wii. Is there any non-hacking way to get these items even with the WiFi shut down?

Simply put, no.

Maybe a stupid question, but what do you mean by "the Wifi been shut down on Wii" Isn't it possible to visit other people in the game and such anymore?

Haven't played for quite some years, started again only a few days ago.

Basically, the third party company who controlled the servers that City Folk (as well as many other Wii and DS games) used for online play went bankrupt and got taken over by another company who refused to let Nintendo use the servers anymore. Without hacking (which we can not discuss on these forums) there is currently no way to play City Folk online (the same goes for Wild World) but singleplayer still works.
