I've also been off of the site for years, and immediately saw this. It's very relieving to see that ACC is nearly exactly as it was when I was a kid. There's so much comfort in having something to return to, even just a website.

I'm a third year Astrophysics major, and I'm considering double majoring in English. I cannot say that I enjoy college, but I try to make the best of it.
Good luck to everyone in their endeavors!

I graduate from Culinary school in the spring, which is pretty rad. Definiately not something I ever imagined for myself, but the end is so close. It's neat to see all of the different things everyone here is or has studied. I was going to be a physical therapist, but that ship sunk, and ultimately, decided on culinary. And it's (one of) the best decision of my life, so far.

I'm about to go into my third year as a Accounting and Finance double major!

I also just recently started using this site again, I haven't used it constantly since I was a kid! It's awesome to see how many people are still here!

Wow Tamagotchi895. Culinary pursuits have always fascinated me. I'd love to hear about it sometime.

I, however, am a pre-med student graduating with a B.S. in biology in 2018. If anyone here has taken the MCAT, please feel free to discuss it with me. I'm stressing about it quite a bit.

I'm out of college personally, graduated.

My one tip for y'all early on in college is to pick a major that you enjoy AND pick a major that will lead to employment/money after graduation. Nothing worse than putting in 4+ years or studying only to be stuck with the bill and no job prospects after graduation.

I studied civil engineering, and luckily found a job right after graduation!

^ Congrats! Civil engineering sounds challenging. Funnily enough, my family had a Civil Engineering student as our taxi driver yesterday evening. Poor guy said he has been studying while working over the summers and winters for four years and still has one more year to go before he completes his studies. He says that many students here (Bulgaria) have very little luck finding a job suitable to their degree in the country, let alone a job that pays well enough for them to support future families. I'm not sure if we'll meet him again.

^ How did you find your studies in second year? I'm a second-year (to be) Zoology student and wondering what to expect, as I found the first quite challenging! I took some Ecology and Environment subjects for modules in my first year and did enjoy them, however, despite the challenges they present. If it's not too much to ask, I wondered if you have any advice to give. I would certainly consider asking previous Zoology students at my uni - if there were any!

I too have been away from this site for years, and I'm not sure what had drawn me back to it. I guess I missed how much fun and relaxing this place was for me as a kid.

I'm a third year undergrad majoring in International Studies, with a concentration in Asian Studies. Looking to get into translation for Japanese, and I'll be interviewing for the JET program after I graduate. Taking lots of language courses at the moment, and looking to study abroad hopefully next spring/summer.

I originally was going for Computer Sciences, to become a programmer. The work was doable, but I was miserable. I am so happy I made the switch to study a language.

Good to see that everyone is doing well!

Happy to see so many students here

I'm a third-year journalism and theatre undergrad. College is going by so incredibly fast and it's scary. I remember moving in my freshman year. People told me high school went by quickly, but this is so much worse.

I hope everyone is enjoying what they're studying!

I'm midway through semester one of second year now and god, I hate myself. All the promises I made to myself over summer about doing essays early etc. and currently I've been awake for around 72 hours straight as I had two essays due over the past two days and I started them really late Don't think they were up to scratch either but hey, I'll do them again if I have to.

It's really amazing to see what kind of degrees everyone's gotten into. There's loads of familiar faces popping up in this thread that I remember from yeaaaars ago when I first joined. I'll have been on here for eight years very soon, and I'll be turning twenty...

... Jeez.

Just finished my first year of a Mathematics degree. Not sure I enjoy it much but I don't really know what else to do at the moment.

Next year I'm going to study a language alongside it, which I am actually excited to do.

I'll be coming up to my 7th ACC birthday on boxing day, wow, I can't belive how long it has been since I've been around/playing the Animal Crossing games! I've only just become active again as I got a 3DS a few weeks ago and new leaf last week.

Currently fourth-year University student; one more semester, then (hopefully) I'm free! Studying Forensic Psychology, which is neat, but not what I plan on doing with my life.

Anyone here trying to hold down a full-time job while in university? I'm about to apply and am sort of wondering what others' experiences have been.

Wow! I love this thread and what everyone is studying! It's very interesting. At the moment I am going into my Sophomore year of studying Simulation and Game Development! It's pretty challenging but I love it. I can't really play video games how I used to because now I'm trying to decipher them all the time. I always wanted to know the inner workings of video games because video games helped keep me happy as a kid that didn't socialize much!

Also, Alexander1, I am a full-time student and I work two part time jobs. One on alternating weekends with another girl at an Animal Hospital. And the other one during the week(Consignment Boutique).

It's been pretty hard, but I'd say the important thing is to make sure you stay on top of your work. I have two planners, one for work and one for school, and I put all of the school work due for the semester in my school planner. The work planner is used for the days when I work.

This just helps me gauge how much time I have left during certain days and it helps me plan accordingly. My new professor changed a lot of due dates for assignments so that didn't work out to well but if you keep your dates updated and stay on top of your work you'll be fine!

Both jobs work with my school schedule though, which I'm fortunate for. PT me if you have anymore questions about that!

Anyway everything posted here just made me inspired to keep following my dreams, sometimes I get into the habit of comparing myself to other students and talking down on myself. But usually when I get something right I feel better. How do all of you deal with the pressure of competition? Does it not bother you at all? My field is very competitive.

Currently in my second year of school. I'm studying business. I haven't declared or completely decided my major yet, but I'm planning on going with supply chain management. Most people don't have any idea what that is and most of those who do think it's boring, but I like it.

As for the pressure of competition, I thrive on it. That's one of the things I like better about college than high school. High school was all about trying your hardest and participation trophies. I'm way too competitive so the whole "everyone did well" thing didn't make me happy. In college, it is very competitive and you are graded in relation to your peers, not in relation to standards. That's perfect for me. I'd imagine it's no fun if you don't like that competition though.
