Animal Crossing Life Short Stories by PeanutsBFF Behind the Zipper: Chapter 1 In Animal Crossing, all the animals celebrate Bunny Day in spring, the same time we celebrate Easter. The tradition in Aniville is that everyone gets a big basket of goodies, and plastic eggs filled with candy will be hidden all over town. These tasty treats are given by none other than Zipper T. Bunny, a happy-go-lucky yellow rabbit with a skip in his step and a love for kids. But who is Zipper, really? No one knows, mainly because no one cares. Well, almost no one. Cookie and Carmen were sitting on a bench, chatting about the upcoming holiday - their favorite. "I can't wait!" Cookie shouted, a giant smile on her face. "I want ALL the candy!" "I know," Carmen replied. "Say, what's your favorite Bunny Day candy? Right off the bat, I'd say jelly beans, but there are so many kinds. There's the classic Jelly Belly, of course, but there are some based off other candies...oh! And Gimbal's too! I love those! The only thing is that black jelly beans need to stop popping up so much. I hate black licorice. It's not sweet at all and it makes my taste buds go numb. Then that's all I taste for the rest of the day. Also, cherry and cinnamon being the same color is why I have trust issues." Suddenly Carmen stopped talking, putting her paws over her mouth. "Oh no, I'm sorry! I'm rambling again...anyway, what's your favorite-?" "CANDY!" Cookie interrupted, not seeming fazed at all. "Candycandycandy!" Carmen laughed. "Never mind...." "I'm telling you, Bob," Tom told his brother, "you don't need to leave a Catbury Creme Egg out for Zipper as a peace offering." "Hasn't hurt so far!" Bob replied. "Although even when I do get extra candy, it's always gone so quickly...." "That's because you're a vacuum with fur." Tom turned away, grumbling. "The egg hunt's for little kids anyway." "You're just jealous 'cause you're eighteen now and you can't do it anymore." "No I'm not," Tom mumbled, but he was writhing on the inside with the knowledge that his little brother was totally right. Meanwhile, three little girls sat in the park. It was a beautiful sunny day, but they weren't focusing on that. Penny was scribbling in her notebook. "Does SweeTarts have one 'T' or two?" she asked without even looking up. "Just one," Huggy replied. "Crud." Penny scratched something out. "What are you writing?" Lolly asked. "I'm making a Bunny Day wish list. Wanna see? I'm showing it to you, so say yes." She held up her notebook. It read:
""CANDY I WANT (in no particular order): At least two chocolate bunnies (solid) Every kind of jelly beans ever (no black ones) Catbury Creme Eggs Catbury Mini Eggs Peeps (every color of the rainbow) Malted milk eggs Pastel M&Ms Reese's Peanut Butter Egg Runts Eggs (if they even still make those) SweetTarts Chicks, Ducks, and Bunnies""
"That's...quite a haul," Lolly said. "Are you sure you want all that?" "Why wouldn't I be?" Penny laughed for a moment, but then her expression hardened. "Still, something's always puzzled me." "What's that?" "Bunny Day has been a tradition for years, but it's obvious that Zipper is just an animal in a suit." "What?!" Huggy gasped, her eyes widening. "He is?!" "Wow, Huggy, you didn't notice? His mouth doesn't move when he talks, his fur is all fabric-y, and he obviously has a zipper down his back! Sorry to ruin what's left of your childhood, but have you been living in a cave?" Huggy just stared blankly at the mouse. She had nothing to say. "Maybe somebody at the Town Hall knows," Lolly suggested. "Good idea!" Penny said. "I'd better make sure to bring lotsa money. But we should wait until night, when everyone's asleep. And by everyone, I mean my parents. Got that?" "Sounds like a plan!" Little did they know they were about to change the image of Bunny Day for good. A/N: Here's a revival of a story I started to write last year (In case you couldn't tell, I'm really lazy).
Animal Crossing Life Short Stories by PeanutsBFF Behind the Zipper: Chapter 2 "Hey, Penny!" The little mouse's eyes lit up when she heard her friend's voices from outside. She jumped out of bed, rushed downstairs, and opened up the door. "Sorry if we woke anyone," Lolly said. "No, no," Penny assured her, "it's cool. I wasn't asleep, and my parents are real heavy sleepers." "I can't wait to find out about Zipper!" Huggy said happily. "Let's go!" Carrying a flashlight, the girls made their way to the Town Hall. They expected to hear Phyllis' grumbles accompanying the door bell, but instead... "Why, hello there, girls!" It was the chipper voice of Isabelle. "What can I do for you at this time of night?" "Hi, Isabelle!" Lolly smiled. Penny just raised an eyebrow. "Um...I'm not complaining, but where's Phyllis?" "She's taking the night off," Isabelle replied. "I'm sorry to say that there will be no mail delivery tonight." "That's okay. We were just wondering-" "Can we go in the back room?" Huggy blurted out. "Oh," Isabelle said, a little startled. "I don't know if that's such a good-" Not saying a word, Penny plopped an overflowing bag of bells on the counter. Isabelle was silent for a moment, before saying, "Make it quick!" "How'd you get all that money?" Huggy asked as the girls began to walk to the back. "I carry all my allowances with me for emergencies," Penny answered, a gleam in her eye. "That there was four months' worth." "I shoulda kept my mouth shut..." "Meh, it worked out." Penny pressed her large ear against the locked door. As she listened in closely, she could hear two different, yet familiar, voices. "I can't believe I'm doing this for the tenth year in a row." This voice was low and crotchety. "Oh, come on, sis. It's not so bad." In contrast, the second voice sounded sweet and cheerful. "Then why don't you do it? You're the ball of sunshine here anyway." "I have to handle the mail during the day; you know that. Besides, I'm a terrible actress." "Besides, bouncing around in this costume is torture. Plus I look like a rabbit had a baby with SpongeBob. What I wanna know is why doesn't Tortimer just get a real rabbit?" "You know, that's a good question. But still, we're short on time. Please just pull through...please? The low voice sighed heavily. "All right, fine." "Yay!" Penny looked at her friends, her eyes wide and her jaw dropped. "What?" Lolly asked frantically. "What did you hear?!" "Girls," Penny gasped, "Zipper T. Bunny is...is... "Phyllis!" A/N: Well, given my current pace, I doubt I'll be able to finish this before Easter. Hopefully it won't take me a year this time, though. Enjoy!
