I know how you get them, but I was wondering... do they just give you them after you do something for you and you have high enough friendship with them or does it have to come when they move?

Also, do you guys know how to tell if you have a high friendship with a villager?

I just want to get all of my villager's pictures before they move out and I don't want to wait a whole year in between changing villagers (because of April Fool's Day)... because I know that's probably not gonna happen anyways.

The answer is both. If you have a high-enough friendship, you will possibly get a picture. When they move out, they also have a chance of giving you a picture.

I'm not sure how to figure out the amount of friendship. I think it comes with just talking with them enough. I've only had NL for almost 3 months, so I'm not sure.

Someone said that you can check friendship levels by using the megaphone.  If they are far enough way, but you can still see them on screen, use your megaphone.  If they wave & give a happy little chime, then you have a high enough friendship level to get their picture.  I tested this out on Cousteau.  At first, he'd just frown and shake his head, but now he smiles, waves and gives a chime!
