Considering that Pokémon Heart Gold was my first Pokémon game ever and was around when I discovered it at 5 years old I wouldn't doubt that I won't get Gold.

You should get it if you're gonna go after some extra pokemon for (ultra) sun / moon. All the rules in pokemon G/S apply the same as Red, Blue & yellow versions which is there are no suspend and restore point and trades and battles are the same including the use of the time capsule, but once you get to ecruteak city to unlock the time capsule, it'll take 1 full day for it to open.

Sinnoh Cap Pikachu is out - you can, in fact, restart your save file and re-enter the code.

(Which means ideally you can get infinite copies of each of the cap Pikachu)

Marshadow event is now on till October 23 just to let you guys know and not to mention more information on ultra sun / moon.

I picked up my Marshadow code yesterday luckily.

I got two of them. One for me, and one to use as a bargaining chip for later in order to get Hoopa, Victini or Arceus.

I'm getting mine later today.

Well Speaking of ultra sun / moon, there's gonna be rotom dex support like you use O-Powers in X/Y/ORAS and not to mention allowing you to use 2 Z-Moves from Z-Rotom Power.

I also picked up the Chaizard from Target awhile ago and they gave me two codes.

Is anyone still playing pokemon Diamond? I'm trying to help my friend with a game freeze problem and I don't see any similar problems. All I know is that my friend's game is stuck on the title screen or the character doesn't move and the system is fine, but i'm pretty sure my guess is the game card's condition and i'm not sure if anyone else has similar problem to this.

I've never had this problem. I've done void glitches, but the Arceus I get from it won't transfer.

The reason that Arceus won't transfer beyond gen V is that the Azure Flute, the item that allows you to encounter Arceus, was never released anywhere, thus any Arceus you catch in-game is technically illegal.

Is there any way to actually obtain one?

I hate that they make the event codes only last for a few months. If I'd have known, I'd have all 802. Oh well.

^ Only if you actually get one from an event. There was a period during Gen V where you could catch one in the Dream World (unless you were from Korea, in which case you got a shiny Rayquaza instead) but now it's event-exclusive.

I still have Dream Radar. Never knew about the event then. Ugh.

I'm terrible for getting Pokémon codes and never using them. I must have loads of expired ones. Ugh.

Next time make use of them before the event has ended. once the event has ended, you can't get'em again and time traveling isn't possible to get the event pokemon so it's either you get one off from a legit trade or wait for a 2nd chance to come.

I guess I care enough to get a code but not enough to get the things from them I'm not a dedicated player so any kind of special Pokémon variant or just one with unique moved or whatever doesn't matter too much to me. Is there any Pokémon that they ever give out that's not available in-game?

Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Shaymin, Darkrai, Manaphy (Phione by extension), Arceus, Genesect, Meloetta, Keldeo, Diance, Hoopa, Volcanion, and Marshadow. Quite a few. These aren't needed for a complete Pokedex though.

I remember getting Genesect and Volcanion codes, and some for bottle caps (whatever they do ). I'll have to start paying more attention...

Manaphy are still obtainable if you have a new or unbeaten copy of the original Pokemon Ranger.

I beat mine last year.

The slight catch about getting manaphy off from pokemon ranger 1 is that if it's a used game and it's already completed, you can't get it even if you try to start a new game, you won't get another manaphy so apparently the manaphy mission can only be done once per game card. you need to have a 2 DS of any model (as long as they're working) to get manaphy.

There are also a few legendaries that are normally shiny-locked, but can be got as shinies through an event. Off the top of my head, I believe this applies to Xerneas, Yveltal and Tapu Koko.
