Tax season is upon us and after priorities are met, there will be some play money available. This means I can finally stop borrowing my son's DS and buy my own!! Question for the gang here is - Im currently playing on my son's 2DS. I have no issues with it whatsoever. Still there is a part of me wondering if I should spend the extra cash for the 3DS in XL. There is only one real reason for me that I can think of and its the larger screen. I wont be using the 3D effects anyway.
So, your thought? Is the larger screen worth the extra costs? Or should I save my money and go with the kind Im am currently using?

The 2DS, although cost-effective, is very delicate; my old one broke a few months ago and I had just bought it a few months before it broke. I've heard that the 3DS and the 3DS XL's top part can break off if you use to much forse opening and closing it. It also might be just a rumor. I've had two regular 3DSes and they lasted quite a bit longer than my old 2DS, although I had recieved it secondhand.
I'm not sure which one you should purchase. I prefer the 2DS, if that helps!

What you feel is what you are,
and what you are is beautiful.
Last tax season, my husband and I purchased the new Nintendo 3DS Pokemon Edition. It comes with Pokemon Red & Pokemon Blue pre-installed, two special themes for the home page, two customized plates for the outside of the 3DS and the little analog stick by the ABXY buttons. (Although I haven't figured out what games that works with yet. )
It was a good buy, but I think my husband regrets it. He gave his old 3DS to his mom, which was a 3DS XL. It was special to him, because one year for his birthday I purchased a squirtle squad decal, and he put the decal on his blue 3DS XL.

There are FOUR 2DS systems in my household (two adults and two 7-year-olds). We have not had any issues with ours whatsoever. It DOES feel plastic-y compared to the 3DS or XL, but it doesn't affect game play at all. In face, because of the shape, I feel it's more comfortable in my hands.
I did TONS of research and watched TONS of Youtube videos comparing the systems. I couldn't justify the big price difference between the 2DS and the others. I don't quite care about 3D in my games, so the only real argument for me FOR the 3DS/XL was that it feels more sturdy, and it's more "portable", in the way that you can put it in your pocket (I wear baggy shorts, so my 2DS slides right into the back pocket, if needed). Also, I believe the new 3DS does NOT come with a charger...
If you HAVE the extra money to spend, I would advise you to get what YOU'RE comfortable with, even if that means spending a few extra bells. I love my 2DS, so I, personally, would just buy two of them, and keep the second one in case the first one ever breaks.

If you steal Hybrids, do NOT come to my town.
I LOVE the 3DS XL!! That's what I have. I don't use the 3D part, but I love the big screen. Before this one, I had the old 3DS. I would never go back or get a 2DS. Just my two cents!!

I am a grown-up gamer.
Ive been looking into getting a New Nintendo 3DS XL. I really want to start a new town on a new ACNL cartridge, and transfer items from one town to another. However maybe Im clinging too tight to my purse but I cant commit to a $199.99 price tag. Should I wait for a better price drop, or if this THE price drop?

I'd personally rather the 3DS XL since it can be closed. Maybe i'm just paranoid, but I like keeping the screens closed together so they don't bang into things.
Games also look so much better on the XL than they did on the smaller models, so there's that.

Everything happens for a reason.
I've yet to figure out that reason, though...
I currently have three 2DS systems. (I have multiple copies of Wild World and New Leaf, and one Happy Home Designer.) I sold my 3DS XL and New 3DS XL. I prefer the look and the feel of the 2DS. Also, I play a lot, so I always worried that the hinge will eventually break on the 3DS.
