A couple of years ago, my boys upgraded to the Wii U from their beloved Wii.  Recently, I traded the old unit in, and found I had done something very wrong.  All the items the boys had worked for were all saved on the Wii.  Now lost forever...

On the one hand, I do feel bad, but on the other it has renewed their love for this game.  Once again there is so much to do and work for.

I know at one time there were incredibly generous people here that had helped me complete sets and obtain items the boys wanted.

I was wondering, if possible, can someone give me a LOAD of bells, so I can send my boys generous gifts (and make my house huge).  I do want them to keep playing, so I will hold onto the bells and give them out in spurts.

Also, if I can get 4 gold fishing poles, one gold slingshot, and a gold watering can. Maybe some pitfall seeds too just for fun.

Sorry to tell you their isn't wi-fi anymore for CF. So unfortunately your're  going to have to grind it out. The ability to trade and gift items, visit towns is shut down. Nintendo lost the server contract for wi-fi, so hit the shops, sell everything you can get your hands on, and grind it out for hours. The community is here, but the ability to help you is not.  Sorry...and good luck...happy grinding!

I had read that, but I thought there was a way around it

What is the best method to get Bells?

I'll explain everything.

The save data is saved to the system, not to the disk, which is why everything is lost now.

Wifi is indeed gone now, and you can't 100% the game now due to DLC and lack of wifi. There are private servers you can hack your wii to get, but you would have to start all over, again, and you would have to follow some steps very carefully.

Plus the staff ( I'm not one of them, don't confuse me for one ) doesn't let you tell others how to get it, which is really disappointing.

Honestly I just time travel to any month I can make money. Summer is a good time for fishing and bug catching in the evenings.  From May until August...Sept. I also do holidays over and over.  Bunny Day or any other holiday where you get furniture. You can make alot of cash that way. A villager or two might move...people always move back in. You are really the only permanent resident.... really. Time travel is frowned upon by alot of players here and is a personal choice. After all its your game ..not theirs so the rules of play are your own. The developers put the ability to time travel in the game and I am smart enough to use for my own benefit.  The Stalk Market if your brave enough is also available if you want to make the investment. I do not. I dont play the  market. I use the above methods of TT.  I have paid off two houses in a week using holidays and fishing/bug catching in summer at the beach..fishing/
bug catching all summer long...over and over. Good luck.

Also any method of hacking your Wii can brick your system..so be very careful...no matter what people tell you there is always a risk of trashing your system. Per Nintendo...it is not reccomended under any circumstances.

Anyway..good luck..I hope you find a method that works for you.

If you have a GameCube, you can start them on a different Animal Crossing game, (ACGC, the original) and when they move away you can still trade using a code generator in the game. Gamecubes are cheap and controllers are cheaper, and if that fails they can use emulators.
