I was just curious what was the longest you've kept a town going before taking a hiatus and restarting, or just restarting out of boredom?

My longest was probably two or so years on my original Gamecube file until my game was stolen.

Probably the town I have had since New Leaf launched in the US. I have played pretty much every day for 2 and a half years in Lakuun. I just finished my first real theme town and now I'm having that "What do I do now?" moment that comes with finishing a goal. Lol think I'll just enjoy it for now while making plans for the winter theme.

I had a CF game I played for about a year before earning bells just got tiresome.

My first NL town is over a year old and I've recently abandoned it because I wanted to start a different town... but I couldn't find the strength to demolish it so it still lives. I may go back and finish some things on it some day

Which one are you currently playing?

My WW game I played every day for over a year.

My CF game I played for almost a year then I sadly sold the CD

My NL game I stopped and started a lot. I played when I first got it though to Christmas and then didn't play in spring. Then picked it up again last August and played Christmas again. Then stopped again in Jan. I just picked it up again in October and all my villagers thought I left for good because I had been gone for so long.

I've played every version from GC on. Have only missed a couple weeks here and there. New leaf is my favorite. I like working on the goals.

Without taking a hiatus ... probably a couple years or so.

I do still have a 13 year old town on my GC memory card. I don't play it very often. Just check in every now and again.

New Leaf is my favorite version. Although I have played it since the day it came out, in my original town, I did take a hiatus to get a business started up. It was a weakness that I knew would take my time away from what I needed to do so had to put it away for about 9 months. Back at it now though.

AC is the one game that I never really get tired of. I have four NL towns now because I will not destroy one to make another.

Wild World was my least favorite. I didn't play much at all.

City Folk was one I played everyday for a couple of years until I completely ruined it for myself. I got ACToolkit, a map editor, a villager editor, and maybe others. Once I started playing God in the game, I quit after a couple of months. It got boring. Never went back to it.

Started ACNL on the release date and haven't taken a break.
My main town gets played every day.   My extra towns get played when I have free time.

Two towns since launching in 2013. Getting back to my first after being away from it for few months to play Fantasy Life. My son was playing and ended up losing two of my dreamies. Cats Tom and Rosie moved. But have three cats still left and hopeful to get back more cats. Goals keeping me in the same town.

My step son got me hooked on AC Gamecube in 2004. My town from that is still going, and I have over 8,000,000 bells in th bank. I still go there every now and then, but just rcently got an old Wii console and bought an AC:CF disc. Not having WiFi capability sucks, but the game is still fun. I kinda miss all the chores the animals had me doing in th first game, but so far CF is still a lot of fun to play around with. I thought it would be a lot more modernized, but it seems pretty much the same as the priginal wih extra stuff. The WiFi capability apparently is what made it so different.

My longest town was called SanFran (when I had actually lived in San Francisco) on Wild World. I had that town for about 3 years. Similarly, I had a City Folk town also called SanFran and that town lasted nearly 3 years.
