Is it just me, or is it harder to crossbreed flowers in NL than it was in WW or I am doing something wrong? How's everyone else doing it? I've put combinations all over my town but have only had a few hybrids.

Hi. Are you using the right combinations? Do you water them daily? Have you tried experimenting in various areas around town to see which areas have the best results?

When I started in New Leaf, progress was slow. But then hybrids were spawning like crazy.

Hi. I'm using the right combinations but I wasn't watering as I have the perfect town ordinance :o I'll try that! But apart from that I've tried everything!

Like Aaron said, to get hybrids it's necessary to water those combinations that you want to breed from!

Just be warned that the hybrid combos are slightly different in NL than they were in CF or WW. For example, purple pansies, blue roses and purple tulips are much harder to breed now.

The combinations were correct, I double check them all! After watering I've got a few hybrids this morning!

I've been trying for ages to get a blue rose, and purple pansy. So frustrating!

^ I could never breed those either. I was so frustrated about getting a blue rose that one of my generous friends (who is not on ACC) gave me 5 of them!

The problems with purple pansies and blue roses are the "special reds" needed to spawn them and villagers planting red flowers everywhere.  After months of wasting fertilizer and careful calculations, I spawned my first purple pansy. I kept it where it was and spawned another. Now I have a few areas around town full of purple pansies.
