Ok so I just demolished a PWP and decided to make a little forest right where it was. I put 3 saplings enough spaces away from each other so they would grow and I TT's to the next day and they have not grown! I have no idea what is wrong! I mean, maybe they are too close together? I also put flowers all around them. Do you think that has an effect on them?

Maybe they are too close to something? (Cannot have any building, etc. directly next to a sapling)
Or maybe they're just planted in inconveniently-placed dead spots. If you don't know what a dead spot is, it's basically a place where trees just flat out won't grow.
And flowers unfortunately have no effect on whether or not a tree will grow :[

Yeah I'm thinking that maybe they are just too close together. Its usually like one space away from each other and they grow fine. I figured the flowers didn't have an effect, but hey maybe someone knows something I don't lol. I'm gonna try planting some more and see what happens.

Did you plant them in the south half of your town? Because cedar saplings only grow north of town

I learned this the hard way

Right, any cedar sapling planted over 32 spaces south from your fence at the railroad tracks won't grow. And come to think of it, you need to plant any trees up there at least one space away from the fence or they won't grow there either. I usually try to put about 2-3 spaces between trees. Also, if you want to plant bushes between them, make sure the trees are fully grown first be fore you plant the bushes or the bushes won't take. Never plant the bushes first, your trees won't grow at all. I've found that it's a good idea to plant trees no less than 2 spaces away from buildings as well.

Ohhhhh now that i think about it I am planting them on the south end. Thats where my house is. It's such a random dumb thing lol Thanks for the help guys!
