My daughter plays NL on my DS and she can't go to Tortimer Island.  How does she get the boat to come to the dock for her?

Has she talked to the "former mayor" at the docks yet?
She has to play for so many days before Isabella will announce he is looking for her then she needs to go to the dock to talk to him.  After that, the next day, the boat will be there.

I'm pretty sure you also have to pay off that first mortgage before Tortimer will appear.
