Mr. Popular 'marshmallow' squirrel that everyone wants. ( including me except for I only want him because he's a squirrel, I love the squirrel villagers)

He's super expensive! Which I think is a little too much for a game that these villagers can move on you unexpectedly. I
Knew someone who bought a Marshal for like 50 mil bells to only lose that Marshal four weeks later, and they were playing the game everyday too.

Some people want him because he's cute and then comes obsessive fangirls, towns dedicated to Marshal or creepy rooms with his face plaster on every single furniture in the room, including the wallpaper and flooring or a room with a replica of his house in it. -__- (Not just that one dream town, I've seen dozens of towns that have done this! And also Marshal isn't the only villager they've done this for)

Not to mention there is this one people I watch play this game on a video gameplay and almost everything they say has something to do with Marshal to the point that i literally yell at video telling them to shut up! Ughhhh! (I love their videos, but wish they stop talking about Marshal alot.)

I have Marshal in my town and to be honest I don't see anything so special about him besides being cute I guess...
He's no different from the other smugs at all. But yet people treat him like he's a king (or someone who only has the hearts for one female villager, which is false! Smugs villagers flirt with all the girls, including the female human!...and maybe the males too )

Lately I've been getting the urge to protect him from anyone online (obsessed people)... including Tumblr!

I know right! I like Marshal but the obsessive fangirls GET ON MY NERVES.

I think Marshal is cute, but the when people get obsessive over him it can get kind of irritating. I don't begrudge anyone for liking Marshal, but he's never be on my personal dreamie list.

I suppose I'm being rather hypocritical though because if you look at practically anything I've posted on this website it will have something to do with Pango or Knox.

I agree, that anyone who obsesses too much like that can get annoying; however, I actually find the furniture/room themes with the patterns of villagers' faces to be quite cute... LOL I actually have one of Marshal that I've used on furniture before, just because I think it's fun and like how it looks.

I think the reason he's so popular is just simply because he's a cute squirrel. The squirrels seem to be one the most popular villager species just because of their cuteness, and he's new to AC:NL and extra cute. At least to a lot of people. =P

I agree wholeheartedly. I think Marshal is cute, but he's not a front runner residential candidate. I like the vast majority of the squirrels (but Sally especially)

My islanders on Tomodachi Life think Ankha is better than Marshal. They are also indifferent about the fangirls.

Everyone has their preferences and favourite villagers and that's totally cool and normal, but I can't stand the fact some are so popular just because they're popular, if that even makes sense.
Like, I like Marshal just because I think he's cute. Not because he just so happens to be popular. I would love to have him in my town, but it's no biggie if he never shows up.

THIS. Omg, I could not agree with you more on this. Another place that's really bad about that is MiiVerse. To the point where I only use it for pictures now.

YES. Oh my gosh yes. So much yes.

I don't HATE Marshal, but he certainly isn't one of my favorite villagers.  He just on of those "middle of the road" villagers for me.

I had him in my village for almost a year and a half, he sent me tons of gifts, romantic letters, and yes - he has sloppy furniture.

It's probably why a lot of people like him. I think he's cute and after having him in my town for so long, I really like him but some people are a bit obsessed with him.

Wow, I'm really out of touch with how the kids play Animal Crossing these days, apparently. People can buy villagers? How's that work?

Well, here's the thing, I actually have Marshal in my town right now. Organically, I might add. In general, I love smugs, and Marshal's one of my favorites. He's freaking adorable. Now, he has nothing on Kidd (my baby who moved out . I'll say he was my character's boyfriend, since I don't like to call him my boyfriend...that's kind of creepy), but he's still pretty cool.

I get this vibe that he's this hipster-ish, film studies major who takes his art way too seriously and is always trying to find poetry in everything. He views his house as a "beautiful mess". Kind of a starving artist type thing.

Oddly, he seems...straight-er than a lot of smug villagers. I mean, Kidd and Klaus used to send me romantic letters every day (again, smugs are my favorite villagers ), but he never gives me anything.

...Needless to say, I tend to extrapolate quite a bit on the villagers in my town .
