It would be sooooo helpful if you were told that you already had that piece of furniture or clothing item before you bought it, instead of having the check the catalog or try to remember every time you want to buy something.

Like they could say 'It seems you already bought that, would you still like to purchase it?' or something like that.

That way when you try to complete your catalog you know what you have and don't have instead of cross-checking online lists of a whole bunch of items.

If another animal crossing game comes out they should definitely make that happen.

But then again that would get annoying for someone like me who is currently making a shop with lots of tables which means mass buying exotic tables and end tables.

But that is a good idea for catalogers.

I got an app for my android phone so I can check/fill my catalogue as I shop =)

EDIT: I also wish that store items (ESPECIALLY carpet/wall) could show their name in a thought bubble when you walk up to them, like ground items. It would make things a lot faster and eliminate extra dialogue.

I wish they did too.  In Disney Magical World it tells you that you bought it when you go to purchase it.
The also do the clothing better in that game.  Looks like the new Animal Crossing Designer game is using Disney Magical World for clothing.  No looking thru your closet anymore.

I really like that idea, too.

Not that it makes things easier, but you can check your catalog at the machine where you order items. Unfortunately, once you have T&T Emporium, it's on the first floor. And, it's not convenient if you want to check what clothing items you've purchased. But, it does provide you with a way of checking in game, rather than checking an online/printed list (which you may/may not have checked the item off on).

Maybe they could indicate it some way like with a symbol. The special characters in this game talk way too much already.

haha, that's true, they do talk way too much. i didn't even think about a symbol. that idea is even better!

Yeah, and I wish they'd remember that I've used the wrapping paper before!
