I just thought we could take a moment to give some appreciation to him & Nintendo.
Personally my heart dropped at this news. Nintendo has so much respect from me. They are not just a gaming company that looks to makes the consoles that can make the most money with the best graphics & specs.
Nintendo has always been unique, stubbornly creative & innovative. The Gamecube was purposely designed to be a gaming console only, because Nintendo did not want the console to turn into a DVD player, (when this would have been more marketable & popular.)
In a time where there was huge demand for more violent and adult games, Nintendo made a point of expanding the children & family friendly franchises---such as Animal Crossing.
They put their foot down, and often chose their creative vision above popularity & profit---creating a relationship with fans and loyal fans like me who respect that mentality (even though I loved Resident Evil & Silent Hill on the Wii---I still respect a company who cares about families)
Nintendo truly are artists and gamers at heart. Of course they want to make money & make a successful company---but they made one with a lot of integrity too.
Satoru passed away from health complications, but left Nintendo with ideas for the future where there will be more games designed to improve peoples' health.
Let's take a minute to cheer them on, and hope the remaining members continue to create wonderful games that make so many people happy.
