Ok firstly I need to be set straight on something:

I'm a little confused about how trading works. I know if your villager is moving someone can come to your town and pick them up.

I get that part.

I don't get how to get their villager---do they have to be moving at the same time?

or can you ask any villager from another town to move to yours if you have a space free?

If you have villagers you don't want can you get people to come and ask them to move into their free space?

Ok now that my stupid NOOOB question is out of the way & everyone is done going "what a fool this person is TUT TUT!"

I had a "theory" about the void. I like to think that the villager flies off into space and is reincarnated into someone elses' cartridge when they move into their town.

The other theory is that they are all in some hidden part of the city or Island and retired from walking in circles in your town & moved onto something much more exciting.

I hope the creativity of my theories and other posts will redeem me from the random obvious question I will ask on these boards.

If someone picks up a villager in your town as soon as they leave the place where the villager puts up the sign that says there sleeping or whatever it will say gone now you can ask the villager that you where trading for to move in or just get a camper

Cool so I could give my unwanted villagers to anyone as long as they have a space and they don't have to be moving?

^ If you have a neighbor you don't want, that animal has to be in boxes in order for someone to talk to them to get it to move to their town. If it's not in boxes, there's no way to get it out of your town until time passes and it's in boxes.

I imagine that when a villager is set to enter the void, they get a letter or something from higher authorities telling them of this and their move out day. The villager is very depressed about this because they are about to be erased from existence forever and all the work they put towards trying to persuade you to invite others to your town to talk to them was pointless. The move day comes, they get on the train, and as soon as the train enters the cave, they're erased. So basically it's like a huge honor for a villager to be chosen as a dreamy/be moving to another person's town. Sort of dark, sorry xD

But still that theory is kinda dark... I bet Annalise was glad she came to my town instead of just moving out of CP blue . And now she's like my favorite snooty villager in the game lol

My theory is that they go to some prison-type thing until the authorities at the prison say that you go to "this campsite" or "move to that person's town" and if the campsite fails they come back, and when they move out of the other town they go back and do this cycle until they move to a town that won't let them move out and they live a happy life in that town.

But I don't know any people who have Egbert or Iggly as a dreamie so they will live in prison FOREVER

Pierce moved to my WW town so he's okay, he still goes to Main Street once in a while

Seeing that I got a villager from a spotpass, this tells me that they don't get "wiped out" because I heard of people saying that the villagers you get from spot pass are villagers that person had go to the void.

Instead of a prison, i think it would be more like a waiting room, or a pleasant limbo where they fly around and view which town they want to jump into.

I've always tried to imagine the void to be a special "waiting village" out beyond the HHA. Kind of like a neighborhood of temperary housing where villagers get to set up a camper version of their houses and are free to travel through the HHA to get to Main Street until they've found good places to move to.

My thinking behind voided villagers being found on Main Street is because all these villagers we think we've voided aren't actually voided! They are living in the waiting village and they travel down to Main Street every day to talk to Nook to see if he's found any suitable towns for each villager to live in!

Then the reason we don't see the voided villagers on Main Street right away is because their house is last in line in the waiting villager to check for a new town!

^ That's actually a really good theory.


To add onto mine they get breaks and that's when they are on MS.

I saw Flurry in Main Street today, made me really happy as her leaving was an accident. She said she hopes to see me again & that I find something nice in the shops....ah Flurry, always one of the nicest of the nice types.
