Can one talk about LGBT content in public on this website? I remember that a certain word that rhymes with the words hey, may, and way was banned from use. Like we couldn't use that word or talk about it at all. But then I read this in an official post:
"This is just a quick FYI that Modmin discussion regarding some boards' rules in regards to LGBT content, as well as looking to find other like-minded ACC members as one's self, are nearing an end. A site wide announcement will be forthcoming with more details. There is no set time of when the announcement will be posted other than our traditional answer of "soon". Thanks for your patience.
So what does this mean? Is it okay for people to be open on this website about their orientation? Or is it still against the rules? I mean, it was all legalized in the US recently. So I am just wondering what the ACC rules are for this. And what does this post mean and what are the changes about the rules?

"Can one talk about LGBT content in public on this website?"
No, at this time this subject along with politics, religion and other polarizing subjects may not be discussed on the public boards. You may discuss it in PTs. When it comes to this, the rules are the same as they have been.
" Like is it okay to say things like "that's gay" or is that still against the rules?"
As Sonnic said, this would not be allowed. You may not mean to insult someone but something like this could very well be construed as an insult, no matter the intention.

It is allowed to create a private thread to discuss LGBT related topics and issues. In fact, I believe such a private thread currently already exists and is being run by Brielle2000. However, topics like these are currently not allowed to be discussed on the public forums.
You are, however, allowed to make a passing mention of it. For example, if you were a female member, you would be allowed to say "My girlfriend and I went shopping". You are also allowed to mention your gender preferences in your profile.
Sometimes it's the people no-one imagines anything of,
who do the things that no-one can imagine.
"So if I have read the last post correctly, then one cannot talk about the subject on public forums??? What about making a thread for all of the gay members to come to? Is that allowed yet"
That's kind of allowed. You can ask to wifi with people of people and place specific identifiers on it (for example, gay/LGBT people only), but you can't make a thread asking for gay/LGBT people to be your friend.
