If you decide to do that, please share your thoughts with us - it doesn't look like the kind of game that would have "spoiler" concerns. I'll most likely get the US version when it is available but would love to hear your opinion.
I have very mixed feelings. If it's just about designing villager homes to make them happy - then I'm not that interested. The idea of buying cards so you can invite other villagers over to look at the house I just decorated doesn't do anything for me either - so there's another 'strike' against it (for me). If I still run a town and decorate the outside as I have the ability to now, then hmm, maybe I'll like it after all. The fact that there will be a New 3DS released with it -- is what might be pushing me over to the "will buy it" side.

so many towns, so little time http://newtowncee.tumblr.com/
I must admit to being a little cautious about this title .. it looks like the same items to decorate a house as we had in New Leaf, which means it's just a repeat of what we've got .. but why would they think of releasing just that
Also I agree with Cicee that the amiibo cards aren't really a huge draw for me either .. although I doubtless would be tempted to get a few favourites if I get the game
Thankfully we'll get a nice period to check out the Japanese version before it some to our shores, so we'll have a better idea of it soon .. but who am I kidding, I'll probably just buy it anyway haha
I'm not happy about the cards. Getting 3 cards and repeats is a huge problem. On the day of the release I can see people buying up a lot of the cards and selling them on different sites.
It would be better if you could just buy a code from the EShop. To make Nintendo happy they can release certain ones every 2 weeks or so. That way they get people coming to the Eshop to buy the cards and maybe a game. I don't want the cards.
One of the employees said that a huge amount of amiibo were take for the new WIiU game. So all the stores got a few and the were gone right away.
I'm pretty done with amiibo's in general. I can never get the ones I want. Nintendo opens the preorders but only allows for like 10 at each store. Then they don't remake them.
As a result I am VERY nervous this new game will pose the same issues.
Yeah, that's a downside that they really need to remedy since everyone will be trying to get their must-have villagers as a card amiibo .. and that means a few will be very popular
The cards could be used if there is a new Wii U game. The only problem is your data will get erased from the Happy Home Designer if you use it on another game. So if you use Mario in Mario Parties and Mario Karts you'll need two Marios.
And we do have a little bit more information about this game and a Wii game from E3 today
1. Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer for the 3DS was shown a little bit more, and it seems that you can move things about in the gardens of the houses there. This videos shows what was shown and I quite like it.
2. Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival was shown for the Wi U .. and I can't help but be a little disappointed it isn't a fully fledged Animal Crossing experience on the Wii U. Here's a clip of the video presentation they showed about it here
i think i will skip both, collecting blind bags for 100 cards and buying like 8 amiibos for 20 dollar each, no thanks... i just hope there will be a ordinary ac game for the wiiu.
Oooh, that's looking a lot better than I had imagined .. colour me more interested
Thanks for posting that
It's starting to feel like it will be another full game building up a town, and not just a decorating mini game
Does anyone have any idea of the format or way that the amiibo cards will be distributed yet? Do we know if they are in packs, and pickable .. or only found in random packs like Pokemon cards It might be too early to know about that, but I'll be interested to see how it's done in order to get hold of my favourite villagers
the cards will come in blind packs and the first run will be 100 of them but there will be even more.... so i dunno, it can become hard to collect for if you dont find your favorite in the first 50 buys and your stuck with a bunch of extras. also if you cant craft/collect anything to unlock ingame stuff. then you are 100% depending on the cards for anything in the game. it can fast become a desperate collector trap that have you running around like crazy looking for cards.
Thanks for the links. I wish there was better lighting when she decorated Fauna house. So it's a game with some of the things people are already doing in ACNL. Example adding a school and hospital in one of their side players houses. I wonder if there will be a restaurant. The toilet in the middle of the school was odd. Not sure what grade she was in at the time.
The placement of furniture is like Disney Magical World. It moves along and than you can rotate it before placing it.
Not excited about the cards. Each time you need a villagers card you'll have to pick it up. I hope the cards are well made for younger players. I'm going see how well it goes in Japan first. I'll still buy it because I love AC and just buy a few packs of cards if there are any. Wish I knew how many villagers can live in the town. Also if your town is full can you get one to leave. I don't play for dreamies so if it's 20 villagers than it wouldn't cost too much.
LinandKo will be doing youtube videos for this game when it's released in Japan. They did the Japan ACNL before the game came out in NA.
I watched the Japan video last week and it helped me. Mine has been preordered. Nintendo should have shown that video instead of the lady playing the game.
some good news have finally been revealed about the cards....
" Happy Home Designer can be played without any Amiibo cards. The animals will hang around in front of Nook’s Homes thinking, oh, I want a house like this. You’ll talk to them and take on their requests and build their houses. But with the cards, you can reach out to animals in particular. You’ll be making a call and saying, hey, would you be interested in building a house with us? For a lot of Animal Crossing fans, it’ll be great to be able to reach out to their favorite animal at will and come to build a house for them."
That was what I thought would happen. Everyone will get different starter villagers just like ACNL. Read that will have to buy the special cards for villagers that we like or NPC like Kapp.
The video above is a live gameplay of Happy Home Designer at E3. It makes it seem as though villagers will rotate through your town and you can pick who to build homes for, but you could buy the characters card if you want someone specific and don't want for them to randomly generate. The video makes it seem like a lot of fun... to me anyway.
Well, I'm not sure at this point about this. It looks interesting, and I'm a big Animal Crossing fan, don't have a Wii U, so this would be my option for MORE Animal Crossing madness.
I will have to learn more over the next couple of months and see how "interested" I become. I do kinda like games like this...the Sims comes to mind for the furniture placement, so yeah...it's a good possibility.
