At least in HHD they actually look like they're shopping, eating, sleeping or talking. Such a nice change of pace.

Honestly, it doesn't look very appealing. I'm not a huge fan of "spin-off" games and it looks as if it would get boring after just a few hours.

I thought the same thing at first. Though when I realized how relaxing it could be to sit and put together houses for each animal, made it more appealing to me. I love decorating in the other games, but not having all of the furniture pieces made it frustrating and not as enjoyable. I love being able to also do the outsides of homes and choosing different locations. I think it'll keep the game interesting.

I honestly think this game looks very fun considering how home designing is one of my favorite things to do in NL. I also like the thought of working for Nook, it's something that hasn't been a feature of the game since 2008 in CF and even then it was only part time.

It seems like Nook has upgraded his "Nook's Homes" building, which is interesting.

The only complaint I have about the game is that you can't have your own house.

Has anyone seen anything about a Wifi function in this game? Maybe I missed it but I think it would be cool to go to someone else's town and see how they have done the landscaping etc. That is totally what I am totally looking forward to the most! I have wanted to do the yards in AC since I began playing years ago.

I knew that there wasn't any wifi in the game since weeks ago.

I honestly don't even care since WiFi isn't one of my favorite things about AC, although I do admit it would be cool to see others' cities ("town" is a heck of an understatement from what I've seen) and see how they designed them!

I'm actually really excited about this spin-off! I'm not the best when it comes to designing houses, but I want to give it a try anyway. Maybe I'll find a hidden talent... It's almost coming out here in Europe, and I can hardly wait after seeing so much fun stuff about the game

Less than two weeks for us in the US!

I'm basically recreating all of the villagers houses from AC GameCube LOL.

I play games in German now as it's my second language so I have to wait until October to play it DX

So excited, under two weeks left. ASfaddddddk.

OK so I've done a ton of research for this game because I wanted to know if it was worth it or not.

1. The price of the game is $39.99 which is supposed to come with a few cards AND the scanner

2.The cards don't NEED to be used. So unless you are going to throw house parties with your favorite villagers, the cards aren't totally necessary.

3. There is more to the game than just decorating the inside of houses! You get to determine where the house goes, decorate the outside of each home, design your own home, design the exterior of all the houses, throw house parties, and make and design shops! I've watched a few videos and you get to build restaurants, hospitals, clothing stores, coffee shops, a school, you name it! You also have to the hire villagers to work there too!

4.There are quite a few new characters as well as some old ones! Lottie is the pink otter that looks like Lyle! I believe it's his niece!

5.These animals have very HIGH expectations!I've watched someone play the japanese version and in this game, the animals won't just settle for something! This is great because you can really go above and beyond what you could in NL.

6.The other buildings I mentioned before become very interactive! After you've built and designed these places, you can go in and see villagers interacting in them and you can join them!


In short, from what I've learned, this game is, yes somewhat of a mini game, but you cannot really do anything to your house or change outfits unless you've earned them from villagers who were very happy with their house designs! Which gives you a challenge for getting decorative stuff! No longer do you have to worry about ponds or bridges getting in the way of decorating and you are free to interact and visit your villagers whenever! I hope this helps everyone to understand the game a bit more!

I've already pre-ordered for my grandson and looked around for the best price. Every place I have found has the game for $39.99. The game and the scanner with a few cards is $49.99. If you pre-order from GameStop you will receive a poster.

If you want to download the game from the eShop the price is $39.99 but if you pre-download you will receive a "theme" for free. If you have the old 3DS then you will need the scanner, which is $20.00 by itself at GameStop.

I'm thinking maybe you haven't been here for an AC release before. It's been quite common to let people know if there are sales going on or where things are available in the past. Especially if supplies start running short like the ACNL 3DSXL did.

Edit: I'm hoping the cards don't run out quickly like they have in Japan. They quite making the Series 2 cards so they could make more Series 1. They were more popular than Nintendo thought they would be.
