If you're referring to an instant messaging system then I am to believe the staff has already discussed and decided not to incorporate it into ACC because it would be very difficult to moderate what is being sent.
Aren't Facebook, AIM, etc. similar to ACC in that you can send swift messages to other users? However, I may be incorrect in this assumption, and if so, then I'm sure a staff member can give a more detailed response on the matter.

We currently have the private thread system. I understand that it isn't quite the same as instant messengers, but it still allows you to communicate privately with others.
If you are looking to communicate with others while playing, is there any reason that you don't want to use AIM, Facebook, Skype, IRC, etc.? If you exchanged your messenger information along with your friend code (you would need to do that through the PT system and the FC through the FCR system), you could do the same thing.

Sorry, I don't accept random FCRs.
Instead of creating a whole new system, it would make more sense to use ajax to make threads (both public and private) update in real time. Such an update is unnecessary, but would increase convenience for users.
