Do you open your gate for locals,or just internet friends you know

I only use local when I am transferring items between towns on two seperate handhelds or playing with my nieces at family functions.

I don't think local can be used with Internet friends unless they are within 90 feet of you. When using Local you are not using the Internet but a built in function that will read another close ds.


If I am wrong feel free to correct me everyone.

I use local for every ds3 that's in the house currently playing and Internet for everyone else I'm trading with on ACC.

Tressawolf, I agree with you on that. I only use local when playing with my sister-in-law because she doesn't like the internet side and we don't get interrupted on local, or with my other 3DS when transferring things from one game to the next.

I play in my own towns with my own characters, so I usually choose local. I rarely play with strangers unless it's to trade or to do RV shopping. Having strangers in my town is stressful to me.

i use local when playing with my children so my friends don't have to play with the kids. Otherwise, I use the internet.
