I honestly miss the sims 3 store. I don't play the sims 3 anymore since the game lags so much on my computer. When the sims 4 came out, I really hated it. But when I picked it back up when toddlers came out, I immediately switched over. I have like 2000 or so sims points on the store from ads and such. I do not think I'll spend any since I probably won't get a computer that can run the sims 3 till after the store becomes obsolete. So I might just go buy some stuff for some people's wishlists. That's probably what I miss the most about the store is that you could gift people things. Youtubers and famous simmers could get things off their wishlists from their fans if they wanted. I miss that.
I can't play Sims 3 anymore on my laptop either. It used to run okay but now it's awful. Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall. But even Sims 2 ultimate collection shuts down. So idk it could be there fact that my laptop is like 5 years old lol
Yeah I can't get myself hooked on Sims 4. I play for like an hour or two at a time where as with Sims 3 I could spend a DAY playing it. Now, that could also be because as time has gone on my priorities have changed. But idk. I WISH it would grip me and get me addicted.

^ Probably best to wait on Sims 4 until another deep sale and/or in the next 1-2 years when more expansions are released.
I honestly think Sims 4 is more of a glitchy mess than Sims 3 is. At least Sims 4 doesn't give me any lag, but the multitasking glitches just make me wish multitasking wasn't a thing.
It's unfortunate that, once again, the developers don't care enough to fix all the glitches. In fact, during their Parenthood live stream, they were showcasing a toddler making a mess on the floor with paint and the mess appeared on the floor several feet away before the toddler even started the animation.

Messes are a mess... I find that my parent will go to clean up messes that aren't even there. Probably a mess the child had queued an action for and didn't even start the animation for. It's aggravating. Plus, I think messes should just not be able to be made outside because it's outside? Why are you mopping the grass?
I didn't even know that was a thing lol. Maybe when Seasons releases, the rain will wash away the paint?
Funny thing is, Seasons might very well be cut up into pieces. There were several surveys that certain Simmers received months ago that talked about "Winter weather" and "fall" activities packs. So it's definitely possible that seasons will be cut up into 4 game packs. I guess we'll have to see too.
Rumors are spreading about Sims 4 Pets that 99% releasing this Fall that only dogs and cats are included. No horses or even smaller animals like birds, hamsters, etc. I will be SO angry if that is the case. Pets is supposed to be an expansion pack, so there should be a lot of content released in it.

It just occurred to me that Sims 4 Fitness includes 3 "new" gameplay objects
1. Earbuds portable music player 2. Rock climbing "treadmill" 3. Working out on TV
A classic example of EA cutting small features and putting them in DLC packs. Let's not mention the fact that they reused the same dancing animation for a workout video.
Ugh.
Also, side note. I just calculated how much my Sims 4 game costs at full price from when I bought it and it totals up to $310. And I'm missing like 8 stuff packs.
It's sad because I get so bored so quickly. And now I could have technically afforded the Switch if I didn't buy anything Sims 4 related. oh well.

Probably not tbh I don't have a job atm and only have a handful of money from allowances, holiday money, etc.
I definitely won't be buying stuff packs anytime soon though. They just don't interest me that much.
I will grab Pets though if it ends up releasing this fall! As for the Switch, I think it's best if I wait to get it as like a graduation present to myself in like a year and a half. At least by then more games I'll be interested in will be out!

i don't currently own any of the game packs other than Dine Out but I think they're a nice touch when you can get them on sale. I could be wrong but I feel like I spent $10 instead of $20 on Dine Out. Not a bad deal considering you get a good amount of gameplay. I'm thinking about investing in another one, do y'all recommend Parenthood more than the others?
Seasons was my favorite EP for 3, I'd be really disappointed if they decided to split it up like you said...can't say I'd be surprised though
I'd recommend Parenthood if you love playing families. I can't really say I've played much of it yet, but from what I've seen, the parenting skill and Character Value Traits have a pretty deep and meaningful system that seem to actually affect the future of your children's lives.
I have to say though, they truly outdid themselves on CAS and Build mode objects. Everything in the pack is either cute or adorable lol.

I love The Sims along with all the Expansion Packs. Sadly, my Windows 10 laptop will no longer play the original Sims. Sigh. How do the new ones compare to the original? Should I consider repurchasing all the original or are newer Sims close to the original game?
Ugh, that's my problem with The Sims Ultimate Collection that I own. I've been trying to find a solution to getting it to install for months without any solutions
Well, I guess it depends on what you enjoy. IMO, I personally think The Sims 2 is the best out of all the games, although I play Sims 3 more but it has a lot of glitches and lag.
After Sims 1, all 3 new iterations are in "3D". Like 3D environments.
Sims 2 released in the early 2000's, so they don't look the greatest today, but the gameplay is very fun.
Biggest additions to the Sims after the Sims1: - driveable cars - New life state, toddlers, teens, young adults, elders - 3D environments, better controls - plethora of expansions and ways to do almost anything - young adults can go to university and go in dorms, earn majors, party, join a sorority, etc.
You'd probably have to just Google each Sims iteration and seeing if it looks like fun to you. I'd generally recommend finding a game to play that contains the most expansions that seem worth it to you.
The Sims 2 has: University, Night Life, Open for Business, Pets, Free Time, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Apartment Life The Sims 3 has: World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Also, make sure to check the base game requirements to make sure your computer can run the game before making the purchase.
I didn't list The Sims 4 because it's not anywhere close to being complete

I don't own a Mac either, and I've never had to backup my saves, even though I really should.
I'm not sure what Sims game you are having troubles with, but I'd google "sims (insert #) backup save"
There are tons of websites that offer really helpful information.
Also, I just noticed Sims 4 is having a huge sale on Origin right now until the 25th! Sims 4 base game - $15 Expansions - $19.99 Game packs - $14.99 Stuff packs (excluding Fitness Stuff) - $7.99 Fitness Stuff - $8.99
I'm definitely tempted to grab one or two stuff packs.

OOOOH but there's also the butler stuff pack?? Maybe I should go for that. How is the butler working out for you guys? Super helpful or super glitchy?
Edit: I went with Parenthood and the butler pack. I feel bad cuz I spent the money and I rarely play Sims 4 (the last time was prob a few months ago for a few hours) but SOMEDAY I'll make time for it.. just like someday I'll make time to finish BOTW.
