Oh my, I was just talking to GameStop and there is an "Expansion Pack" for Breath of the Wild that costs $20! I wonder what it is and do I have to have it?? Some kind of digital thing you download. I'm going to be completely broke before this is all over between the Switch, the accessories, the game, the Amiibo, on and on - is it ever going to end?

The Expansion Pass isn't worth buying until way later. Like Autumn later. That's when extra story content is added to it.

I really dislike the idea of DLC in Zelda but I'll buy it because I'm a weak sucker.

I'm gonna get the DLC for Breath of the Wild anyway. Seems pretty cool that there's 3 packs, but the second pack doesn't come out until summer and the third pack comes out during the holiday.

I don't think you can buy the packs separately; it's all or nothing. Personally, I'm really glad that they're going to continue to add more to the game. The game is already going to be huge, so I really doubt that the game will fill "incomplete" without the DLC.

It doesn't bother me about the DLC, in fact I'm glad we are getting DLC.

What I dislike though is the Switch shirt. When I first heard about it, I just kept face-palming myself.

I know it's just a bonus, but c'mon. I'm not planning on having my Link wear a shirt that doesn't really "fit" in with the Hyrule landscape.

I'm sad we're getting DLC because OoT was gonna get this treatment but then we got MM, one of my favorite Zelda games.

In an ideal world, everything in games would be included right away with no additional payment required, but I guess that's just not how the industry works, especially with large games that take a lot of money to make like BotW.

Wind Waker was supposed to have another dungeon or two, but they weren't able to get it made in time. The game therefore shipped out as we know it today, complete with one of the Orbs just being handed to us by a big fish, rather than obtained through a dungeon. It's still a(n incomplete yet also) complete product, but DLC existing could have possibly given us that extra dungeon they were working on.

Not arguing for it being great here, but yeah. Somebody brought that up on another forum, and I had to stop and kind of re-think my position on what we now have in BotW. I'm still not too keen on the idea of DLC in my Zelda, but I'll just hope that's the type of thing I'm paying for.

I've been pretty indifferent about the BotW DLC since I've heard about it. My take is that if I find that it's worth my $20, I'll pick it up and hopefully I'll be happy with it. I'm sure the game alone will have plenty of content by itself, so I'm not really worried about being sold short.

I'm not gonna buy the DLC until after I play through the game, mostly due to being a broke college student.


I'll play BotW in a month and 3 days... I can wait though, it's only been like...6 years.

In the meantime, I'm pretty occupied with school, reading, watching TV shows, and playing Twilight Princess HD. Would be nice to get that and Pokemon Moon finished up before I pick up BotW, but since my game completion track record is pretty subpar...I'll hope for the best.

Got Breath of the Wild pre-ordered and got the $20 for the DLC! I'm all ready for release!


Can't wait for it! I wish I could get it for the Switch but I can only get it for Wii U at the moment. Still, I'm very excited to play it when it releases next Friday!

Isn't the BotW DLC for wii-u or switch or just both? I was curious about the DLC for wii-u and switch.

I would think it would be for both.

Think I'm finally gonna continue Twilight Princess HD and start heading to Kakariko. I'm sooo early into the game still. I'm only 4 hours in and still there.

My Friend is planning on getting BotW for wii-u, but for me, well I'm not sure if my brother is gonna get it for switch or not.

as for the BotW DLC for both systems, doesn't it cost a little more for both systems like Legends of Hyrule DLC for Hyrule Warriors which is about $20 for both systems?

Nintendo hasn't specified if it's $20 PER season pass, or if $20 technically buys both of them.

My local Bestbuy isn't doing a midnight launch, so I just ordered it, and they claim I'll get it on the 3rd.
