Well even if you don't get the DLC(s), you can prepare the materials for the DLC characters. What I know so far is that if you're gonna grind with the DLC characters, you need enough materials for the hover boots 3 badge, but in addition for young link's badges, you need din's fire 3 and fierce deity's mask 2 badge to increase the SP gauge. The reason why you need din's fire 3 and fierce diety's mask 2 badges for young link is that you can maintain focus spirit by filling up the SP gauge very quickly and use the strong attack to refill the MP. It doesn't work if you're in some spots where there's less enemies so you're gonna have to pick up the triforce shards from enemies and grasses, and break the yellow colored jars to accumulate SP fast.

When I used young link's focus spirit mode, I normally use C5 in terms of large amount of enemies so it's easier to kill enemies from long range. if not in focus spirit mode, I normally use C6 to get SP fast.

I tried playing the game with a nunchuk for 1 stage in adventure mode, but it's gonna take me some time to get used to the controls for co-op play. It's not easy to play the game without wii-u pro controller for co-op mode. The downside parts for playing the game with nunchuk is that you can't rotate the camera and change lock-on targets.

Hyrule warriors is easy with co-op play so you can save time and cover most ground in each stages also the KOs you and your partner made will be added to total from both players so if you're doing a co-op play in adventure mode, you wanna keep track of each other's KO count so apparently both you and your partner must have at least 600 KOs or more from both sides. There will be some stages in adventure mode that the KO count will not be needed for the A-Rank.

Question...If you only have the Hyrule Warriors game for Wii U, can you just purchase the Wind Waker characters DLC or do you still have to buy the 3DS game?


Hyrule Warriors Legends port looks pretty bad IMO so if the only way I can play the Wind Waker characters is buy owning both games, I guess I won't be playing them then.

I believe you can still buy them on the Wii U version. I'm 99.9% sure, but what I heard could be wrong.

And I agree, I find it lazy for them to port it to the 3DS when they could have announced something better. I can't wait for LoZ: Tri Force Heroes though.

I'm starting Wind Waker HD today! I'm excited. The visuals look gorgeous and it looks really fun.

Also, did anyone realize that Nintendo changed the box art for the game? Like the cover isn't gold anymore.

My Best Buy used to have a gold copy of the game but recently changed to fully colored artwork. Which is fine with me because I kinda prefer the new art to the golden filter on it.

So if anyone has a gold copy of the game, I would keep it since the value for gold copies might increase.

I'm definitely going to get a copy of WWHD finally because I've gotten the urge to replay it and feel the nostalgia feels of sailing on the Great Sea again.

Also I'm stuck in the Pirate's Fortress in MM3D and haven't played in a while because of it. I can't seem to find the last egg and I've gotten all turned around...I don't like this level.

For those who played Wind Waker HD, does anyone have any tips? I haven't played Wind Waker before on the Wii U (or the Gamecube). Like, should I be searching for those treasure charts as soon as possible? I'm guessing finding them will get you pieces of heart and everything.

you're gonna need stone mask for the pirate's fortress so no guards can see you. You gotta look in every room in the dungeon and see what you have missed. Don't just go rushing otherwise you can't proceed with the story. Look for points of interests in every room you enter.

If there's an unexplored area or room, that's probably what you have missed so check your map carefully.

The best tip I can give about Wind Waker is to not just try to finish the story ASAP. There are so many islands and things to do on them, and that's where the game really shines! The first time you go to Windfall Island for example, talk to all the villagers and help some of them out. There's just tons of stuff to do between story accomplishments in that awesome world. I never get too much into treasure charts, because you spend a lot of time at sea near the end.

yeah, but if you try to rush through the progress in WW, you won't get much further in terms of survival so you gotta make detours to increase your chances of surviving throughout the game and there's not much bosses and full heart containers to go around.

My Advice is that you gotta have faeries in the bottle for emergencies and like about 1-2 potions just in case.

Also, get the Picto Box the fisrt chance you have. That way you'll be able to complete the Nintendo Gallery!

Try to get the wallet and arrows upgraded to full capacity, as it helps especially towards the end of the game when there are more difficult enemies to contend with.

Well Quiver upgrade is what you need the most in terms of points of interests, but if you're using bombs often including using them for the ship, you may wanna upgrade the bomb bags as well.

KirbyHamtaro - When you say "pirate fortress", do you mean the Forsaken Fortress? I'm already there and can only use the barrel for stealth. Unless you obtain the stone mask somewhere else and can return to the Forsaken Fortress.

I think he means the Pirate Fortress in Majora's Mask. Forsaken Fortress is in Wind Waker... I think.

I recently looked at the box art for my copy of Wind Waker HD. It's gold!

Yeah for Wind Waker it's best to upgrade your Bombs and Arrows to max. Try to get the upgraded wallet and also get the highest magic meter you can. It'll really be a big help. Also use grandma's soup for max magic, health, and double attack. Fill up on those and you're fine. Also get as many heart containers as possible.

Grandma's soup was always my go-to for my bottles. It was fun to stop by Outset every once in a while!

I love Outset, it's my favourite island. The music is so nostalgic and the island holds so many secrets and surprises, particularly the "Savage Labyrinth" Cave.

For those who played Wind Waker before, can you return to Outset Island and Forsaken Fortress once you leave? Also, can you travel purely by sea to those places or can you only fast travel there?

When you first leave Outset island, it will be a while before you are able to go back and visit, because you have to complete some of the story first. (Tetra does warn you and say you won't be coming back for a while.) I believe you can return to Forsaken Fortress. You can travel by sea to those places and fast travel, but it's quicker to fast travel.

Shortly after you get through Forsaken Fortress you'll be able to have access to the whole world, wherever you want to go. You'll definitely be able to return to Forsaken Fortress, because the story necessitates it at one point if I recall.
