Kane: It leaves a terrible taste in my mouth to put a price on what's right. I'm a free working-class citizen. As such, one of the first things I've learned is that freedom isn't generated or reinforced by money.

"Clearly, we don't live in the same world. Swallow your pride and take the blasted money. I want this transaction, like all the others, to be final, is that clear?"

Kane: ...Fine then. Don't expect me to keep it long, however.

"Fair enough. But don't expect me to replace it." He gestured toward the door.

Kane: (turns around and leaves, muttering in Low German)

"Good day, Mr. Schlichting."

Kane: What?

"It's a parting. Inverse of a greeting."

Kane: (over his shoulder) Don't kid yourself in thinking we're any more friendly. Because we're not. I'll accomplish my task and that is the end of it.

Luke was in the tavern simply reading through a letter that had been sent to him regarding some work that needed to be done, he could now understand the writing as it had been translated further down it line it seemed.

'Luke, we need to get more wood to rebuild some of the houses that were destroyed before, please can you collect them soon as many children are cold as they have no shelter. It is important that it is soon, please thank you.'

Kane: (leaves the area and heads past the tavern, where he can be seen from the window)

"Well then, I had best get going, it doesn't chop itself." he mumbled to himself closing the letter into a folded square and putting it in his pocket and leaving the tavern, his sandy hair was shimmering a bit in the sunlight as he set of not realising that he was about to bump into Kane

Kane: (narrowly avoids the collision by sidestepping) Oh, sorry about that.

While Luke didn't look directly at Kane he did reply, "Oh um... sorry about that..." he then remembered that he'd need to actually go and get his axe to cut the wood so he headed for where he knew to get one, he walked parallel to Kane but  decided not to engage in conversation with him at all.

Kane: Need some help?

"No... I'm fine." was his direct answer as he looked at the clouds in the sky seeing what shapes they were making, it helped to pass time occasionally, though how it teased him with the shape of his home country, well if you elongated it a bit and turned it ninety degrees to the left at least.

Kane: (changes direction, leaps up and climbs back in the tavern room's window)

Luke looked a bit surprised and heaved himself up through the window to see what was going on, "Hey, hey ,hey... I didn't mean to be so abrasive, sorry about that."

Kane: (gathering his kitbag) Hmm? Oh, don't worry. It's not you. I had to grab my kitbag.

"Hmm... Nice to meet you too, well that depends, your not with those cold blooded Brits who seek nothing but dominance are you, cause if you were I'd be considering whether to kill you or not, after what they have done at least."

Kane: (pauses and turns his way) ...I would NEVER support the British. In fact, I've been arming Native Americans ten years.

"Then we have a common idea then, I help the Native Americans in any way I can whether that be hunting or collecting materials for building, anything to make sure the British don't screw them over, as for they have done to me is something I could never let happen to anyone else, nobody deserves to go through their ideals."

Kane: (takes out a revolver and extends the handle to him) Well, if you're against the empires, you're a friend of mine. Take this Webley; It might be useful if you get in a jam.

"Thank you," he gratefully took the gun looking at it now jumping down from the windowsill that he had been sitting on, "This will definitely help, well then I guess we should get the introductions done as quick as we can, I'm Luke, been here for what about four or so years ever since the Brits murdered my friends and family and shipped me of to try and be brainwashed, apparently I was attentive and was a natural born leader to them, thought I'd be an invaluable asset to them, too bad that officers head is cleaved and bobbing in the Atlantic,"

Kane: I'm Kane. My family was executed for blasphemy by the Prussian government- And their "blasphemy" was a book the Church didn't like.
