Japanese, for me. Technically, I can already speak some Japanese. My vocabulary is quite limited though, as I only took two semesters of Japanese. I'm more fluent when it comes to reading and writing the language. So in short, I'd like to be able to speak Japanese more fluently.
Crossing animals since 2003.
I would like Japanese for gaming purposes, and also cultural since I really love Japan. Besides that I already know quite a bit of French, where I'm sort of backwards and can write essays in French if I wanted to, but I don't speak it that well (kinda like Qwerty said above) ... So I would want to master French before learning something else.

I would love to speak Japanese mainly because of Pokemon. It would allow me to not only understand the information before it's available to other languages, but also to allow me to participate in possible events that don't as such take place anywhere else.

I studied Spanish all throughout high school and college (have a minor in Spanish language), but was never that great a speaker of the language. I could read and write it pretty OK. But verbal communication I always struggled with. Also, listening to native speakers speak was difficult. So I'd love to be able to listen to and speak Spanish better than I ever have.
As far as a language that I don't know at all? I'd probably go with French or Chinese. French because I think as a romance language, I could pick it up with hopefully minor difficulty. I say Chinese because I feel China is an emerging economy in the world and we have many visiting scientists and students at my job from mainland China that I think it would be great to be able to converse with them in their native language.

I'm going with the majority here and saying Japanese. It intrigues me culture-wise and like Devin said it would be very helpful for gaming purposes. I'm actually heading off to Japan this Saturday and I may pick up a few phrases along the way.
If I could go with another language to speak, I think French would be good. I actually learnt French for about 2 or 3 years at school and I found it generally fun. Like VK, I think it's a very romantic language and I think it would be adorable if you could say something romantic to your significant other in French. Right now, I only remember learning the numbers 1-10 off by heart and I don't think that will win any hearts over. I just think French is a beautiful language overall and I'd certainly love to build upon the phrases I already know.
Being from Flanders, in Belgium, I already have knowledge of Dutch, French, English and German. If I were to choose one language to add to that list, it would be Italian. Italy is probably my favourite holiday destination and the food is simply amazing! Italian would probably come in handy for me
