Yes, as there are times where I just feel like just taking part in the community as a normal member again. It can be difficult sometimes when there are members that only see you as a Moderator, as rule enforcement, rather than just another user who enjoys the site just like everybody else.

Sometimes I do. Mostly in the private BT's I'm in I worry people aren't as relaxed as there is a moderator in them now. But on the whole they are great and I still try to use the forums as a member and not always in Mod mode.

It has been so long since I was a "normal" member that I don't know if I remember what it was like. I was heavily involved in a giveaway as one of the managers before I became a Mod. The Giveaways board was my home. I do miss the anonymity of being a non-staff member. It would be nice to not have assumptions made about you because you have a badge next to your username sometimes

Hmm, I can't say for sure. I can see a difference in interaction in that the badge may be off-putting for some, which is totally understandable.
I remember when I was a normal member I was a little intimidated by the Staff, particularly the Modmins. I always treaded lightly; chose my words particularly carefully. After working with all of the Staff a bit closer I've been opened up into a new perspective in that they really are just regular people. Sure, they have extra duties and all, but they're still the same people whether they're on Staff or not. It is difficult to wrap your head around that though, for sure.
So in a nutshell, I kind of do miss being a normal member. I miss that comfortable or relaxed side that members had around me.
Absolutely! I miss the days when I could write a one or two line post which nobody probably read anyway.
Some days as Staff on ACC I have to supply a coffee machine alongside the essay I'm submitting for others to read.
Wait..... I just wrote a two line post. Yay!
Drat! It's four lines now.

I tended to lurk more as a normal member anyways, so I wouldn't say there's that much difference between then and now. The major change is all the cake and ice cream we get along with the added responsibilities. Granted, my view might be different as a Modmin, and I'd especially imagine that iolite would have a much different story. It will be interesting to see how she responds to this question.

^ Because they copied my signature! And they threw donuts at me! :(
I'm not really sure. I enjoy being a staff member but I'm not sure if I miss being a normal member though. I suppose it's just down to not remembering what it was like being a normal member.

The name's David!
Who said that?
It has its up and downs. I feel ostracized from time to time thanks to this badge but my friends here are still my friends. Like others, I did lurk more as a normal member and I was only extremely active on the giveaway board. Being part of staff pulled me away from the giveaway boards and opened up the rest of the site to me.
When I was a normal member, the staff was more or less invisible to me ...
