There's a O-Power that can increase your pokemon's happiness for a limited time. depending on the highest level you got, it would be quite useful for those pokemon that evolves by happiness and not to mention that Luxury ball can increase the happiness as well.

The pokemon bank that was released was only for EU, AU, and new zealand. Some of us that lives in NA (or US) still have to wait for the release though.
It's too bad that Surfing and Flying pikachu can't be transfered over.

By the way - friendship levelling update - EV training does not work - I tested the inkay I had been EV training all last night and today and it had low friendship.
Battling works and if the pokemon is low level the amount of levelling up you do seems to compensate for frequent fainting.
I think that befriending opower is quite good. Either than or the pokemon amie stuff does affect it as my chingling had gained friendship pretty quickly this morning and I was using the befriending power, amie, and only did a couple of low level wild pokemon battles.

So.. congrats Europe, Australia, and NZ on the release of PokéBank.. Hey.. I heard PokeGen and PokeSav aren't making it through? Is this true? Because I am sure I have PokeSav pokemon from trades and whatnot. I mean.. how can they tell? Because you can easily make a "legit" looking pokemon.. anyway but whatever.
^ I had many pokemon that I know were from Pokesav, and literally half of them could be transferred, so i have no idea how they check it. All I know is that they can't be transferred to pokebank, so that's good

There's a big difference between LEGITIMATE Pokemon & LEGAL Pokemon. Legal means it can be obtained somehow in one of the versions of the game. Whether it's move tutored, TM'ed, egg moved or purified in XD, or you used an outside device, somehow a Pokemon can learn a moveset. Legitimate means YOU caught it, YOU purified it, YOU got it from the event, YOU gave it the moves without an outside device so you know it's 100% legit.
There's a lot of stuff that's legal, but not legitimate. It can be difficult to tell the difference... ITcan take a lot of research to make sure what you have is legit.

In order to transfer a single box of Pokémon, I have to:
1. Download both bank and transporter, why they couldn't just have been one single program who knows.
2. Put my B2/W2/B /W/HG/SS/D/P etc. cartridge into the 3DS
3. Open the transporter, which ONLY transports the first box in B2/W2/B /W/HG/SS/D/P etc. to the bank, you CANNOT select any other box.
4. Shut down the Transporter
5. Change the DS game to X/Y
6. Open the Bank
7. Transfer that single box of Pokémon to the X/Y game
8. Close Bank
9. Swap back to the DS game
10. Start up the DS game, and move the next box of Pokémon you want transported to the first box
11. Close the DS game
12. Re-open Transporter and transfer the next box. Oh, and every time you do, it repeats the same unskippable message about inappropriate names and items.
Oh and the server likes to disconnect regularly. And I have to pay for this service after a month. Thanks Nintendo.

No one's forcing you to transfer, it's a way to do it that only uses 1 system...people complained for years about transferring Pokemon to a new generation when they only had one system, so they gave us a way that only needs one system. And now you're griping about that?

It's a hugely inconvenient system that is pointlessly archaic. If it was free, then so be it. But this requires a PAID subscription to use, and it is just awful. Why on earth can I only transfer a single box at a time? Even in the previous gen transfer systems I didn't have to manually shift my PC Pokémon every single time.

Previous games only let you transfer 6 at a time, then play some stupid game to catch those 6, rinse & repeat. I'm so glad that I can transfer 30 at a time, however oddly I may have to do that.

"Anyway, POKÉBANK FINALLY LAUNCHED IN EUROPE (& AUS & NZ)~ I am off to get get my Shiny Mightyena back and into 3D after all these years. <3 "
Oh hey, I remember this Mightyena. I held it briefly for you, but I don't remember exactly why or when.
The first shiny is always the best one. My first one (after the Red Gyarados, of course) was a shiny Kakuna back in Silver. My save data corrupted long ago though, so its long gone. I suppose there is no way I could have gotten it over to any current game.
Anyways, I started over Y last night, and I picked Chespin this time around. I've gotten Yveltal and Moltres over to X safely, and I gave my brother my shiny Talonflame.
I EV trained my Chespin (who I named Paladin) right away, but I decided to make my next team member some thing I get from Wonder Trade. ...I got an Aerodactyl. Which is pretty awesome, to say the least. It was level 1, so I'm able to actually use it.
"There's a lot of stuff that's legal, but not legitimate. It can be difficult to tell the difference... ITcan take a lot of research to make sure what you have is legit."
That's pretty much it. An expertly hacked Pokémon is no different to one obtained without "forging" it as it's just data. The difference is purely a matter of provenance and perception of people who hack Pokémon in. I managed to get nearly all of my hacks across today, and the ones that didn't I remade.

I completely agree - Nintendo really is stuck in the design dark ages when it comes to software usability. All the tangled account systems, and hard linking games, just make the system frustrating to use.
Also, what is worse is that I have to use the cloud-service just to transfer my Pokémon. I could care less about the extra storage space, personally, including the fact that my Pokémon have to be sanitized (without items) by the servers in addition to Nintendo reserving the right to terminate my service because I triggered the "You are trying to transfer a hacked Pokémon" alert an inordinate amount of times today.
Edit: Oh, by the way, does anyone have any spare leftovers, life orbs, choice items that they could trade? My transferred team are in need of armaments. [PT me]

IVO you're alive. o: Not spoken to you in at least a couple years. But you probably did hold him for me at one point, when I was restarting DPPt.
Sorry that some people are disappointed in pokebank. I'm a bit of an observer here having no previous pokemon to transfer so I can just sit back and watch it all unfold!
Ivo - what a creative way to play - next team member from wondertrade! Aerodactyl is a pretty unusual one to pull on wonder trade - in my experience - so you were pretty lucky.
How will the 3rd team member be picked?
Laura - your famous Mightyena wandered past whilst I was in poke amie this afternoon but obviously didn't like the pokepuff I'd set out because it carried on walking and didn't sit down! Tell him I'll try harder next time. (I was thinking Goldenwonder is a pretty good name, even in all caps - just imagine what 9 year old could have called a pokemon! I'd say that's a lucky escape...)
I didn't try the vitamins. It's only just turned nightfall here and as I've been laying and hatching eggs, doing battles etc, all the while with chingling on the team, I think the friendship will be high enough. Thanks for reminding me to go in and evolve! But I will probably use vitamins for a quick result when I'm doing the eeveelutions, which will be my next project. I have money in the game right now but not masses of it...so I was feeling a bit tight for cash! It's really my own fault for buying all those expensive clothes...

One from my previous playthrough of Y. I had a Lucario I absolutely loved, and she was usually at the lead. I got a Riolu end up putting two Fighting types on my team, but that's not too much of a problem just going through the story. Chespin is going to be the only Pokemon I EV train pre-Elite Four, so I'm not really going to
Next I'll probably get one off GTS (assuming I can find something that's a fair enough trade, that is), then one from X, then uh...Something else.
