God I love this game but There are flaws you cannot dispute or ignore. I've just had THE most Frustrating morning in my game ever. I'm working on a little Orchard/Pathway that leads up to a small woods with the Surveillance Centre Hatch in it, (I was trying to make a LOST reference) when all of a sudden halfway through the orchard I bump into a rock. 'Heh, I'm Mayor now there'll be a way to get rid of this pest' I'm thinking. But noooope. I can't do a thing! Why is it that I can slap a Stonehenge or a Police Station in my town but can't do a thing about one rock! My town is in a state of disrepair because of things like this. Another thing which I'm frustrated beyond belief is that a villager has decided to plop her house down RIGHT where I have marked a Path AND a Community project a few blocks away. Finally, has anyone noticed grass deterioration is not only VERY irritating, but also seems to occur where you've barely even been?! That right there is because the game deteriorates grass based on the amount of save and quits you do! These things are making my town look like a Warzone and until they sort themselves out (Seeing as despite being Mayor I can't do jack) my town is going to stay a warzone. Sorry, but I really needed to let off some steam before I end up restarting my game, and I needed to do it to people who might understand where I'm coming from. Thanks for reading if you did... Now back to trying to find ways to avoid that rock.
I can relate to most, if not all, of these issues. I think the good outweighs the bad, though. Push through it! This game is eternally worth it.
I made the mistake of picking a town with four ponds just scattered about, and it's sad that they take up so much space. I didn't realize the importance of this until about a week in, and I'm not turning back. Live and let live, I guess.
Waiting for the day when ACC allows pictures in signatures!
Until then, check out my hard work: http://i.imgur.com/MvG30bA.png
I guess mayors aren't as powerful as I thought they'd be.
I didn't have the kind of ambitions you did of wanting to move rocks and have a set town layout, but I did expect to be able to be more in control. Needing villager approval and having to wait for a villager to request particular public works projects is frustrating me beyond belief. I guess I didn't want to be Mayor... I wanted to be supreme dictator! I wanted to grow my town without villager requests or approval. I wanted the power to evict villagers who I didn't get along with. And the villagers that I actually want to talk to and do requests for, or have request a public works project... they're always hanging out on Main Street or inside the stores or in the museum so I can't get them to do anything! </end rant>
Yeah. I love this game too. I'm having a lot of fun playing and I play a LOT, but I guess having expectations can leave you kind of frustrated when the game isn't how you thought it would be even if it's still an amazing and really fun game.
I love being Mayor in New Leaf!!! Mayor Nazo of Myst[B51]re
Sleep? Who needs sleep?
I noticed the grass deterioration today.. I was wandering around the little corners I never tend to go in, and they were just brown patches. I never run in my town, and as I kept walking i kept noticing more and more of the brown patches.. I hope the grass wear just doesn't get as bad as city folk :$
It's a shot in the dark, but I'll make it~
