Wow... I wasn't expecting this. Well, I must say I'm really glad that I was able to participate in the last fanfic competition hosted by Computerfan. I always wanted to be in this competition since I joined ACC, but I never was able to. Even though it was a short time it's been great being in this competition with Computerfan as the host and I look forward to enjoying the rest of the competition with Liv as a new host. It's really been a great run Compy!
I'm sad to see the Chocolate group disband. To be honest at first I was apprehensive about being put in the Chocolate group, not only because I dislike chocolate, but also because I didn't know any of you and you were all fairly new writers. But after reading everyone's stories, talking with everyone, and doing the challenges together I found it was really fun being with you guys and I felt we did a good job supporting each other. I sincerely think you are all talented writers. Unfortunately we must now part ways. I wish you the best of luck with your new group. The next time we meet we'll be rivals. I look forward to it!
I actually like mint the most. > u < Now embrace me Mint Group, I'm coming for you! Chu~ = 3 =

There are two sides to every argument.
My side and wrong.
Aw, Compy! We will miss you greatly. ;n; (I know you're not, like, leaving-leaving, but still.) I know sometimes, you might have felt like no one read all of your posts, or that all the effort you put into this competition might have been a waste of time, but I promise you -- we appreciated every ounce of effort, every word you wrote!! I loved reading your blurbs every week, and all your effort really is appreciated. This competition brought me back to ACC and is what really got me into truly learning to write, and I can't thank you enough for your time. (I probably didn't ever say it enough.) It's sad to see you go, but it's completely understandable. Good luck out there in the real world!!
And thank you fordn1 for all your help this year too. The interviews and additional things were fun! ^^
Lastly: good ol' Liv! You're always there for yer peeps. I'm glad you're able to take on this competition and not let it die! You'll be fantastic.
Thanks for your support, guys! It's much appreciated. =D
Voting will be as normal for the week, but the Mystery Challenge will be cancelled. I just need a week to sort all the kinks out and stuff. Speaking of kinks, ocean1 and banannie2002 are still in danger of automatic elimination because of their lack of participation recently. They'll be receiving a warning tonight and if they don't respond to it by Tuesday morning, then they will be out of the competition.

I think it speaks volumes for the consistency of this competition that when I heard the news that Computerfan had resigned I was shocked.
To carry on this project - which I was lucky and privileged enough to be a part of all those years ago - for so long is a massive massive achievement. I know every year people will say wasn't as good as the last, and since I haven't been following the recent iterations of the competitions I can't speak on the quality of them, but what I do know is that every year Computerfan has put his heart and soul into this competition and in doing so has helped improve the writing of so many people. I used to write silly scripts on here, and with Computerfan's help I began to write less silly scripts, and now I write incredibly not-silly scripts for the stage. And so Computerfan, whether you like it or not, you have contributed to what will most likely be some of the worst theatrical drama England has ever seen. And that's just me: I'm sure every contestant that has ever taken part in this competition will have a similar experience. And suppose they didn't always carry on their writing, at least you encouraged them to write in the first place, and that's definitely not a bad thing (unless your name is CPRocks123 - RIP, Cary, Cary and Cary, you shall be missed).
Even if we ignore the writing, this competition has brought a community together and has brought smiles to that community. The role playing, the interviews, the auditions, all fun activities that entertained hundreds of people, whether they were competing or not. Computerfan made loads of people happy, and he created loads of fun for people, and he forged friendships that are still lasting today (unless I'm involved), and for me that is what he can be most proud of.
I believe I speak for everyone who has ever participated in this competition, be it as an entrant or a judge or just a reader, when I say this: thank you Josh, for all the hard work you have put in over the last five-six years. You shall be missed. But for the love of god get all the competition archives packaged up for you - not only will you be able to look back fondly on the memories, but I'd be willing to bet that if you sold it right many an employer would look kindly on someone who has practically single-handedly run a successful literary competition in his free-time for five years. Just maybe remove a few of the more... hazardous comments.
I'm sure the competition will be in good hands with Liv at the reins, but I hope that it forever remains Computerfan's Fanfic Competition. Despite being seemingly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, and despite the fact I haven't been following it for a few years now, Compy's Comp was a massive part of my life, and I'll be sad to see it disappear. I'm actually quite sad now. I had a lot of good times being involved with this competition, and whilst obviously all good things must come to an end, I will always have good memories of this competition. Heck I might need to get it all from the archives.
Anyway, I'll shut up now. Sorry to bring unnecessary sentiment to the thread when I'm sure most of you just want to get on with beating each other to death with words, but I just wanted to add something to what should be a series of thank you messages to the incredible Computerfan for what he has done over the past five years. You haven't let anyone down Josh, and no one allowed you to go on for so long - it was all down to you, your incredible tenacity, passion, and the hard work you put in.
Thank you for those great words, Skypirate. I appreciate it. Thank you for opening up to us all. =) Compy's legacy as the host of this competition--of course--will live on. His name will still be attached to all of this, because if it weren't for him, all this *points around* wouldn't be exactly this.
Thank you, Compy, for all you've done and all that you've helped form. ACC wouldn't be the same without your influence.
On a lighter note, a minor correction. I was using an old markup form and forgot to replace my name with Computerfan's. So sorry about that.

Thank you very much for all those kind words, George. You were a massive part of this competition too, and helped contribute with a lot of ideas (and twisting my head back on straight the countless amount of times I was a total moron). Obviously, we've had our dramas, mostly my fault, but yeah.. You were a big part of my doing this, so thank you.
Well it looks like everyone has pretty much said all the really inspirational and emotional stuff already but:
Aww, it's sad to see you leave Compy and ford1 but I guess these things can't be helped sometimes. I still remember seeing this competition last year and being all' Whoa ok, there's some really cool writers on here and some pretty awesome judges and hosts. Seriously where were all these cool kids before?'
But seriously though, thanks for all you've done and make sure to take care of yourself ok~? Try not to have too much fun without us >w<
Sad to hear it Compy, but I understand. I also can't wait to see what Liv brings to this competition, and I think you have made the right choice Compy. Heck, maybe Liv will make the competition a 2-times-a-year thing.

Week 3 is coming to a slow close. Tonight at 12 AM ACC time, week 3 will be over and I'll try to get all the results up tomorrow. Then we'll do the bottom 2 elimination on Sunday.
As for the new Week 4 challenge, it will pertain to the future! =D
"Write about your character in the future. Whether the character is famous, successful, unsuccessful, defeated, royal, happy, sad, whatever, be creative! Have fun with it. It doesn't have to be a chapter of your story, but it has to make sense with what you've got going on at the moment. PT it to me and the other judges as usual. It's due Friday night, at 10 PM ACC time."
There will be no interviews this week, but make sure to get an excerpt in! If you haven't gotten one in, make sure to do that now. If you didn't see the announcement, the server will be going down at around 11 and won't come back up for like an hour, so manage your time.

You can include any of the characters. If you want to do one or two or all of them, that's up to you. The placing in the future is completely up to you as well, whether it's a day, week, month, year whatever. It's all up to your imagination! The challenge may seem pretty vague but that's because you can paint the picture yourself! =D

Well, looking at your story, you just have your character set further in the future sometime. It's not necessarily a set future date, it's just the future from your story.
