The post that started it all.
One hour after reading CSB's post on my favourite fanfic of the time, the "official" (not really official) ACC fanfic competition came to life. What started as a small, relaxing competition of 21 fresh writers fighting for the title of champion... turned into what could arguably be the biggest contest ACC has ever seen. 2008 saw Skypirate become champion, and helped boost his already large popularity to what we now consider legendary... Even now, he remains the true comedy/script king of ACC for many of us. We then went on to produce another 4 annual competitions, seeing EternalRose, Leaf88, ultimategamer88 and Liv909 joining Skypirate and past champions. We also saw three sub-competitions that pit the ultimate best writers against each other, producing ultimate champions of Mamanator, Skypirate (again) and Hammer_Kirby.

Computerfan: 'WITHOUT A TRACE' BY ULTIMATEGAMER88 FROM FUCHSIA GROUP!!!
Yes! No joke, no trick... you have won the 2011 competition! First place! Finalist B! Stuck in 2nd the whole way through, Buzzy was raging ahead... but voting reset, you came last in the challenge, and still you fought your way right to first place... Just a few minutes before the deadline, you were both tied, until that certain someone came and sent a vote in at 4.57pm and secured your victory.
You've come all the way, you've never been in the tie... there's never been any solid proof of where abouts you were in the voting table. You've been a brilliant contestant, and you deserve this.
But... the upsetting moment. Second place is the worst place to come, I've experienced it myself. It's so close, but so far. Just... two more votes for you and you would have won, Buzzy. It's concrete now... you are 100% silver. Everything this year... every challenge, and now the entire competition, second. Ladies and gentlemen, this writer has been freaking amazing, give it up for our second place, our silver trophy, BuZZyReCKy!!!!

With Hammer_Kirby taking 3rd, and BuZZyReCKy 2nd, ultimategamer88 was our fourth champion!
And finally... I seem to have forgotten to favourite the link to 2012, but let's just say Liv909 won, with BuZZyReCKy second again, and Hammer_Kirby third....... again.
Computerfan: Alongside that, we also had three Battle of the Best competitions, where the top 6 of the previous BOTB went again the latest top 6 of the annual competition. 2009, with top 6 of 08 v top 6 of 09... Crowned a top 3 of Mamanator, Skypirate and TaylorGS. 2010 gave us Skypirate, EternalRose and Leaf88. And finally, 2011 gave us Hammer_Kirby, BuZZyReCKy and CyanCity.
Now... Series 6... 2012 only received 12 entries, and although we had a very powerful top 4... The entire competition was obvious. No surprises, no interest, not very much success. I want to put 2012 behind me and go back to our roots with receiving loads of auditions. Right now, there is only a single page of fanfics on the board... I'm hoping a few people will see this and decide to write a fanfic, and that the small amount of authors currently existing will all enter.
There are four judges, and allow me to introduce them...
Dan_the_man (Head Judge) - He first entered in 2010, where he made it all the way to the final 2, before losing to Leaf88 by only 5 votes. His success didn't proceed to the 2010 BOTB however, when he only got to 8th. He became a judge in 2011, taking over fuchsia group and leading both ultimategamer88 and BuZZyReCKy to 1st and 2nd respectively. He just qualified to the 2011 BOTB, where he improved on the year before and made it to the quarter final, in 5th, again qualifying for the next BOTB. He became head judge in 2012, leading Neon group, and leading BuZZyReCKy to 2nd place again.
BuZZyReCKy - He first entered in 2010, though failed to make it to Robotownrules' top 6 in red group. He returned in 2011, this time taking everyone by storm and making it all the way to the final 2 and 2nd place. He became the silver king, receiving 2nd place in EVERY challenge he entered. He then entered the 2011 battle of the best, where again he achived 2nd. Finally, he entered 2012, and guess what... 2nd place again. Now, he's judging for the first time.
Liv909 - Liv first entered in 2011, and was in the bottom tie week 2 but managed to defeat IrisFan, her opponent. She later returned to the tie week 6, where she lost to Awesome_Guy through deadlock. She then entered 2012, where she definitely improved, becoming champion without a single bottom tie. She has been judge in other contests, and hosted her own competitions. This is her first time judging in my competition.
But they're not all... one more judge has been hired, and they are a real legend from the past... She was one of the most famous ACCers 2009 and before, and was once a moderator (I think??). She's the queen of short stories (usually longer than most full fanfics here), one of the loveliest people you'll ever meet.... She's back.
Mamanator - Mama first entered in the very first competition, 2008. She made it all the way to the final, and although many expected her to win, her long completed story managed the very respectable position of 3rd. She then became judge in 2009, leading Skypirate and pepsicol1295 to 5th and 6th respectively. She then entered the 2009 BOTB, where she battled old foe Skypirate for the title, and won. That was her last success, before her activity dwindled. But now, she's back, and hopefully for good!

Rules 1. You may only enter 1 story. 2. It may be Animal Crossing, Original or another fandom 3. We recommend you have at least 3 chapters before entering 4. Although there's no rule against complete stories (bare in mind Mamanator came 3rd in 08 and won the first BOTB with a completed story), we aim to help you improve as you progress. Consider entering an ongoing story, and take advice from the judges and other contestants to improve each week. Fight to stay in the competition. 5. Voting is not open yet! 6. Keep the thread flagged and check regularly for updates. 7. To proceed from auditions, you need a yes from at least 2 judges. 8. Please remember this is just a friendly contest. Just cause you're not put through to the finals or eliminated early, doesn't mean you're a bad writer or we don't like your story. It's just how things go
We're aiming for a final 24, but with how the boards look right now, that may be unrealistic. There is no guarantee this competition will proceed. That's down to you. Tell your friends, don't be a watcher, be a contestant. Everyone's welcome to enter, no matter your style. If we only get 24 contestants, all of you will make the finals. Any more than that, then people will be eliminated first stage.
There is no deadline for auditions yet, as I am awaiting to see how many people enter.

To all you writers, don't sit in the shadows and watch! Don't think that you're not good enough! You never know until you try. I know the fanfic board is small right now, but I think we can pull it off. When I started off, I admit I wasn't confident and felt I wasn't good enough. However, with perseverance, hard work, and constructive criticism, I got better. You can do anything you set your mind to, so why not begin at the best of the best? =D

I've been looking for this to come back since I came back to acc a few months ago. I'm so excited it's back, I remember just being a little 11 year old when I first competed. I just need to get a fanfic up on the boards.
I was confused when you said 11 (I could've sworn the first I've seen you was the 2012 comp), so I looked back, and wow... you've been at this since before I even started writing! That's really cool

First up facing the judges is a familiar face, having entered three of our competitions... It's CyanCity, with On The Radio!

"Well let's see, writing has been a hobby for most of my life. When I started using ACC as an outlet for my writing, I wrote a lot of crappy AC fanfictions in the past. I didn't really start putting too much effort in my writing until Computerfan's 2010 competition, and ever since then I have written; The Banshee Project, Virtuoso, Escape Artist, and I had a short lived short story thread called Cyanthologies that lasted about a month."
BuZZyReCKy: CyanCity's On The Radio is an easy yes for me. I already follow the story (its one of the only few I have flagged at the moment), and I'm pretty sure he set his target position too low to be realistic. The plot is a bit too normal(?) to be my cup of tea, but it's well written so I really have no criticism... and judging by what I've seen on the boards as of late, I can't see him placing lower than the finals. We'll see if there's anything amazing hidden on the boards when we get more entries, I suppose.

Congrats CyanCity! I've also got your story flagged I'm just slightly more stalkerish than an average reader. And I too would like this comp to be a big as it used to be, I'll put an advertisement in my signature and try to let more people know about it I suppose.
I think I might sigb up for this though I have only just begun writing my story hehehe....I'll send my sign up sheet when I have relesed my 2nd Chapter( as well as my prologue) which hopefully will be out tomorrow!
