I went to Best Buy today and their Nintendo Zone was down. They were very helpful and tried resetting it for me, but that didn't work and they said a Nintendo representative would have to come and fix it. I am trying another location later this week, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Hey you guys!! So here's the thing. I went to two different Best Buys trying to figure out how to get the raccoon clock and nobody was really helpful on how to get it (later we figured out that one of the Best Buys Nintendo Zone was busted but that is beside the point). The second Best Buy I went to had their Nintendo Zone up and working and I refused to leave the store until I (or the Best Buy guy) figured out how to get the raccoon clock. Eventually I did!! YAY!!! Single handedly (thank ya very much)!
Here is how you get the item:
1. Make sure the Best Buys Nintendo Zone is working by connecting to it via the App 2. Go to the Animal Crossing: New Leaf menu inside the game and make sure ur spot pass is turned on 3. To check if your spot pass is on, click "Spot Pass" at the beginning screen and then "Opt-In" 4. Start your game and set everything up 5. Run over to the post office and talk to Pelly 6. Choose the option "Ask for a present" and you should be able to get the raccoon clock!
Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the instructions RPaige! I did exactly that at the Best Buy I went to but it was a no go. I connected to the Nintendo Zone from the parking lot. I saw the full signal, the Best Buy logo but Pelly said the access point wasn't working. lol It searched for several minutes before giving that message.
I got help from a kid in the store and he said it's happened before with other ACers and before with a Mario game. Apparently it just doesn't work for DLC.
I don't understand how I can't download the content if I am able to connect to the Nintendo Zone. I also connected to 2 nearby Nintendo Zones - one at a McDonalds and one at a Future Shop. It's Best Buy's sister store in Canada. I'm going to be in the Buffalo area this week so I'll try there but was really disappointed that it didn't work.
You can get the Best Buy DLC at home if you change your wireless router’s SSID to Bestbuy (case sensitive) and ask about DLC at the post office, you’ll trick it into thinking you’re at a Nintendo Zone and give it to you. Unlike a real Nintendo Zone, you will have to reconfigure your 3DS internet settings and connect to it, like you typically would with a router.
i'm pushin' that lady where you came out as a baby

Thank you Ooga! This worked perfectly I can now not feel silly being an adult and whipping out my ds at a Best Buy and wandering around like a crazy person
GOOD NEWS for those who do not live near a best buy. You DO NOT need to go to best buy to get those items. If you look in the guide they are listed and you can get most of them at the fireworks display during the 4th of july and I think New Years.
i have the guide too and no where does it say that you can get them during 4th of july or new years. it is A DLC and you have to download it.
gmcinnes make sure your 3ds is turn on, check that it has been linked to the hot spot (look for the app to be glowing) you dont have to actually go in to the nintendo spot app..just go in to the the new leaf game, go to the post office and talk to pelly and ask for the present and you will receive it.
Please message me before you send me an FCR.
