What are you most looking forward to about this game? I am pretty excited about customizing my town, and the shopping center looks cool, I could keep going but I would like to hear from everyone else.

I'm new to ACC and this forum. I play ACCF on the Wii. I've heard New Leaf is only for the 3DS and I'm wondering if this is true. It sounds great and would love it on the Wii! Also, I'm confused about getting friends and FCs - any advice/ help?
Thanks and I'd love to hear about New Leaf- shopping sounds great!
I don't usually go out of my way for New Leaf info... so I have only heard that neighbor pics are back(soo stoked about that) and that you can actually VIEW the town before you accept it as your own. Like when you're with Rover(the cat) or Kapp'n(the kappa) and they're taking you to your town, they ask something like "is this the town you're going to be the mayor for?" and you can say 'yes' or 'no' and if 'no' then they'll take you to the next town... I'm like "whuut? REALLY!?!" I mean, I never knew that people can be choosy about their town layout, but thinking about it, I can understand it. If I had some foresight back when I first got my WW game about town layout I would have chosen a better one, but really... it's what you make of your town and the villagers within. It's what you make of it. (: I also barely know how you look in-game and I like the elongated look, but I'm still curious as to why you were/are made the mayor? We'll see. (: Still, portability rules!! *Yeeaaahhh, buddy!* XD

Trying to catalog all non-re-orderables in ACCF, atm. Can you help me?
Yes the new AC is for 3DS only. I personally prefer that as it's portable and the first AC game i played was Wild World on DS

The GC game had no way of connecting with (the) WW, right? At least I don't think so, but I want to (re-)play it again just to make sure and because I'm completist/comp-elitist(my own comp-pound word) and wouldn't feel right in calling myself a fan of the franchise if I haven't played all of the games. (Pokemon is going to be a doozy to complete, in that sense) And then I find out just this year that CF has a thing called "DS Suitcase" where you can transfer your WW characters into CF as either a 'visitor' or a 'permanent resident', and I'm like: "whuu...!?!". So, to make my long question short: Is there any word out already that let's you further transfer a CF character into NL? I might ONLY do that if there's some catalog items you can't get any other way, like CF's DS Suitcase. I asked a clarification question in the CF board and got a better understanding, but nothing beats doing it yourself.
For most games out there regardless of title/platform/genre, once I hear the initial details or main concept, I'm sorry to say, but I do judge early on over whether or not I'd want it. I really try to limit on what I want 'cuz... I'm not made of money. And it doesn't help that I have a wide range of interests either. But like some other beloved video game franchises out there, regardless of the actual review of some games, I'll buy it no matter what. Harvest Moon, Professor Layton, and Phoenix Wright are just a few of the franchises I'll get the next game from. Of course Animal Crossing too. It almost makes me smirk on the inside that other video game companies are trying to copy what Nintendo has done with AC and HM.
And on the subject of customization... Animal Crossing has just the right amount of customization. WW was perfect! Maybe because I always think that the next game in the series always means more options/customization, that scared me off a bit from CF and possibly NL. (My siblings and I got Dragon Quest IX and I just loved the vast amount of character customization(!) but it was too daunting and I gave up. I never even finished the story in DQ IX either! My other siblings did, though)(I also never finished a PKMN game nor a Harvest Moon game yet either.) I like open-ended games, but too much freedom can be a bad thing too. (*whispers* I'm scared of MineCraft... ^.^;; )

I'm just excited for New Leaf, in general! I just started my WW over to hold me over until it comes out. So, the whole town confirmation thing... That would be AMAZING. It'd be such a time saver, than having to restart every time to get that perfect town layout. I haven't really read too much into the game, yet. I want to be surprised!

I am really looking foward to New Leaf. In some ways having more control over your town sounds fun but also sounds like a lot more work. I'm not sure if I am mayor material. It would be nice if they gave you a choice . My Birthday is in May too so maybe I will give myself a present lol.
The thing I liked about playing the original Animal Crossing game is you could have several different towns on one game system. I never had a game cube but found the game after I received the Wii for my birthday! The more memory cards the more towns. My husband and son each had their own towns and I had two or three lol. It was nice we could trade furit and furniture and had different seasons. I guess it was cheating but more fun that way. Something always going on somewhere.
I play ACCF now on the Wii with my son. This is actually our second Wii the first one the disk reader stopped working in it . It was so disappointing because we had gotten so far in the other game. I bought another one and we started over. We did have the games hooked up but we moved and no longer hooked up through our internet cable like we were before. I miss getting the special things from Nintendo and getting to visit other towns. Can you use wifi to connect the Wii?
I am also playing two animal crossing WW games. One on DSi and one on a 3dsXL I recently bought. I go to the library and use wifi and visit my other town and get fruits etc. WW is so different from the other games my son had a fit because of them not having the same holidays as in CF so he kind of lost interest. My sons house is filled with holiday furniture in CF. But he does like the month long celebration of acorns lol I changed towns on the new system till I managed to get all different kinds of fruit. Cheating again I know. I tried writing the animals and sending bottles with fruit but they never sent fruit back so I gave up. I like playing on the ds just harder for me to see it all.
I'm a bit sad and am looking forward to planning my town (if we have to do perfect town, I want to get the acres sorted asap to save me the bother later), collecting themed furniture for rooms, befriending my neighbours, and plotting how to get rid of the meaner residents.
In general, I'm looking forward to seeing the new things that are on offer and once I have trees sorted, taking it slowly and planning it so I don't regret it later.
Ooh, also not calling my town after the one I'm living in at the time. He asked where I was going, I panicked and told him my home town haha!!
Currently right back into WW and paying off my mortgage (I forgot how big those things are but I refused to restart my town for nostalgia), have CF but never play.

There is an Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS bundle.... in Japan. ):
It's also a shame that the 3DS is region-locked so you can't play your english-language version. (WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE REGION-LOCKED!?)
If you saw the bundle in pictures, it's pretty neat-looking. AC 'icons' floating on the cover of the 3DS XL(yup, it's an XL)
I'm starting up my 3DS and asking pointers from my siblings...

I knew there was a bundle in Japan, I saw pictures of it and it was very neat looking; but since there isn't a set date for the release (all I've seen on websites is "the second half of 2013"), I'm hoping they'll surprise us with one I just really want a cool looking 3DS; like the AC one or like the pikachu one in Europe!
I know how you feel, I always wanted one...but it wasn't until I heard about New Leaf that I am dead set in getting one.

Btw, does anyone already have plans about what they're going to name their town, or the first things they are going to do (aka strategize)?
See, for me, I was planning on catching those pesky scorpions and tarantulas first, that way I can plant more trees/flowers for a perfect town status. (But I have no idea what I'm going to name my NL town)

Well, the fact that there is just so much you can do compared to Wild World and all the little details they put in makes me really excited. I'm really hoping they'll release a 3DS Bundle like they did in Japan/Korea, as I don't own a 3DS, but for NL I just have to!

I'm most looking forward to the island and the "cliffs" since I have only played WW. The island idea seems so nice. I also like the idea of walking down to the beach. Hoping for more townies to visit also. Hoping for some of the holidays like in previous games that aren't in WW also.
