Sort of off topic to whatever everyone is talking about now, but when I first read the announcement about this "ACC doesn't need your money." I started laughing because it sounded so solemn and creepy xD

It sounded a bit off to me as well - something along the lines of "ACC is doing just fine and does not need your petty peasant donations."

I think the fact that must people are angry about is that on the donations page that your donation will be used to buy jader a new car. I didn't donate so I could help Jader buy a car. I donated to help the site.

We don't know if Jader used or will use the money to buy a car. I personally feel he should tell us what big purchases he made...the people who donated have a right to know.

I don't think the people who donated have a right to know what the man bought. He only has to tell us if he wants to. Carol is right, too. There really isn't anything wrong with J getting some scratch. He did provided this website to us free of charge. It only costs money if you decide to pay for it.

If he is going to buy a car though, I suggest the 2013 Ford Taurus. It's a pretty nice ride.

There is something wrong with it because he said that the money was going to the site, not his personal wish list.

I feel conflicted. While I think Jader does deserve the money, since he does a lot for the site, I also acknowledge the people who donated feel misled. They felt it would go towards the site. Instead, Jader admits it went elsewhere. If anything, the people need to know where their money DID go.

MasterHiku, I'm pretty sure I've said it before. You donated five years ago, and I know that based on your opinion on this, you won't be donating again. Why do you continue to complain about this?

In the beginning I thought it was wrong that he was using the money blah blah blah but now I really don't give a crap and I now don't see why everyone's making such a huge deal haha. I mean like come on if he WANTED to he could CHARGE everyone instead of it just being donations but he didn't. It's a free website and it's pretty awesome and I think if anyone has a huge deal about the whole thing then they can just pack up and leave ACC.

to all angry at Jader - Well, that's in the past now. He knows what he did is wrong at this point in time, and has already changed his actions. So what's the point in saying the obvious?

Personal wish list sounds so... accusatory. Maybe I'm having a hard time understanding this because I have always figured the Ads paid for everything. I actually recall him saying in the past that he made a small profit from the website.

Give the man a break. ACC is a very successful project that he started in 2002, and now he is reaping the benefits. Sure, the donations page was "misleading" because it said the donations would help support the site, or even caused many to believe that donations were necessary to keep the site operating. I don't see any reason to get mad at J-love simply because he had a surplus. If the ad revenue had went down, he would have had to use some of the donation revenue to support the site, right? I see the donations as extra padding, padding J-love has already told us he saved for the most part. He even used the money for maintenance on ACC a few times. Which, technically is "supporting" ACC. I am thankful for his transparency, and see no problem with him making a few purchases on the side with donation money.

I invested my hard-earned money for the site, instead Jader to used it for his personal use, sorry, but time since and the amount donated doesn't matter.

From my previous posts that you seem to completely ignore:

Regardless of site updates and costs to maintain, the excess money should have been used to actually invest in the server maybe increase the speed, maybe buy some new things that will improve the site, maybe actually hire a professional to make something for site instead of promoting child labor.

Most if not all of my friends that hold staff positions seem to greatly enjoy their jobs, so I don't think that you can legitimately play that card.

It doesn't matter if they enjoy it, they aren't professionals, and many would probably fall under the category of child labor.
