Mainly be buying mine for that reason.
I also love the look of the new Nintendogs, Layton and Super Mario games too.
But I should probably get saving XD I'm aiming to buy it around February next year as I doubt the new AC game will be out before then and it will possibly give me some time to save up for it.

I also love the idea that it will be compatible with my awkward Wifi settings

Im getting a 3dsxl for Animalcrossing New leaf and a 3ds for my sister

Not only am I laying away my 3DS for New Leaf, this is the first portable video game I've ever had any interest in playing.  I still wish sometimes that it could be for a big screen, but I got the XL 3DS so maybe it won't be so bad.

This is the ONLY reason (besides Mario Bros) I may buy a 3DS XL. I actually bought one, didn't like it, but now with this news.. UH! I will be buying it again LOL

fortunatly there are a lot of good 3DS games to go around. I honestly don't know if I'll even buy animal crossing when it comes out.

I originally bought a DSlite so I could play Nintendogs... then when AC:WW came out that was a huge bonus.

THEN I bought a Wii just so I could play Skyward Sword. I never regret that purchase!!!<333

And just recently bought a 3DS only because of AC:NL, HOWEVER, I'm having a blast and keeping myself busy with other games I like until it comes out.

For a long time, I've wanted a 3DS. Then the 3DSXL came out, and I REALLY wanted one. But what'll really push me over the edge for a 3DS, is ACNL. So, yes, I'm buying a 3DS for Animal Crossing.

^Me too! I got the N64 for Ocarina of time, the Playstation for Final Fantasy 7, the GameCube for Animal Crossing and the DS for Wild World specifically. Of course, for all of those consoles I had a ton of games. But those are the reason I bought them in the first place. So it's no different that I bought the 3DS for ACNL, but still have other games for it.

I actually just found a Midnight Purple 3DS used for just $124 dollars. So, I canceled my layaway and bought it instead. The charger is broken, so I ordered a new one... but otherwise, I am all set for New Leaf.

I bought the 3DS for AC/NL then traded it in for the XL....and boy am I HAPPY Way more comfortable in the hands and great on the eyes . I am playing Sims3, Harvest Moon, Mario Kart, Zelda, and of course AC/WW on it. Very excited about AC/NL and a little bummed a the same time because I have been waiting soooo long for it to come out (and perhaps will have to wait another 6 months for it). At least I am getting use out of the 3DSXL though. Love those extras such as movies and downloadable demos. Swap Note is fun too

Pretty much the reason for my buying a 3DS would be to play New Leaf. However I reckon I'd probably buy Pokémon, Mario, etc too as I do like them, but the actual reason I am going to be picking up a 3DS is Animal Crossing.

I'm surprised so many people bought the 3DS for Animal Crossing! I thought it was silly of me.... you guys made me feel better!

Of course, I got other games too... there are some good titles for 3DS, and SO excited for Dark Moon... I'm kinda mad that they're focusing so much on WiiU. I suppose that's the reason they keep pushing NL further and further away.

It's a non-issue for me since I bought one already. Actually, for a while I was with the "My only reason for buying a 3DS is Atlus" crowd. But I'm glad I've got one because the new Animal Crossing looks sweet.

Absolutely and truly got my 3DS for this reason, the fact LoZ is on it is a major plus!
I'm so excited, once the release day is confirmed I'm staying up until midnight to purchase it from the EShop!

Yes! I'm going to get one soon. I have both AC:WW and AC:CF and I really like AC:CF but it's the portability that drives me towards AC:WW. That's why I'm looking forward to AC:NL, because I can have all these great features while still being able to play wherever I am. I can't think of other games for the 3DS that I would really play except maybe Mario.

I already have a 3DS but I'm buying a 3DS XL just for this game mostly because my current 3DS 3D is kind off broken.

I'll even buy a Wii U jut for Animal Crossing but thats a long ways off.
