Alright this is my first fanfic on here. its going to focus on a different link each chapter, Ill let you know at the begining which link the chapter is focusing on but it will generaly go Vio(Purple),Red,Blue, and then Green.

This first chapter is from Vios point of view

Chapter 1- A not so fun car trip

“Look, you can see the camp from here,” my mother said, sitting behind the driver and pointing out the window at a camp, on the other side of Lake Hylia. “We’ll be there in fifteen minutes or so,” she said, with a look behind her to confirm with the driver, who simply nodded in agreement.

“I don’t want to look and I don’t care how long before we get there,” I answered, laying across the seat opposite her, resting my head against the car door and reading a book called Hylian Folklore and Legends.

“Link,” she sighed. “why are you acting like this. You’ve been acting this way since we left this morning,” Mom said, in that tone she used whenever she sensed I was irritated, upset, or disappointed. She was also giving me that sympathetic look that usually accompanied that tone.

“I told you, I don’t want to go to summer camp,” I said, for what seemed like the hundredth time. I was becoming more irritated by the second, and  I looked over at her, with an expression, that clearly stated, that I would love to be anywhere, but here.

“And we’ve told you,” she began, her voice becoming more stern. “We’re not leaving you home alone for six weeks with only people who have to listen to you because your father is their employer. So knock off the attitude because like it not you’ll be there soon, and I’m sure you’ll have a good time and make some friends,” she finished, her expression also looking stern at this point.

I simply glared at her before returning to my book. There was no point in arguing any further, the fact that I was sitting here, on my way to camp, was prove that I’d already lost the battle long before now. Ever since my caretaker, Rose, announced she was getting married and would be spending the summer on her honeymoon, my parents had been trying to figure out what to do with me, while they were gone for six weeks, on their second honeymoon. The solution they came up with, was some summer camp in the middle of nowhere, and I was sick of trying to talk them out of it. They insisted that going to camp would be “good” for me, and Rose said that once I got there, I was sure to have a good time. The whole thing was starting to annoy me.

We spent the rest of the way there in silence. Mom continued to look out the window at the lake and I continued to read Hylian Folklore and Legends. We arrived at the camp with in twenty minutes of mom’s initial sighting, passing under a sign that read welcome to Camp Moonpearl. We parked in the drop off area and the driver let us out. Then he went to the trunk, got my bags, and handed them to me. I stuck my book in one of the bags and turned to say goodbye to my mother.

“Have a good summer. We’ll miss you,” she said, pulling me into a hug.

“I’ll miss you guys too and I hope you have a good trip,” I responded, as I hugged her back, any resentment I’d been felling up to this point now gone, replaced with the realization that it would be eight weeks before I saw her, dad, and Rose again.

“We’ll call to see how you’re doing, and if you don’t hear from us for a while call us, and let us know how you’re doing ok,” she said, letting go of me, but keeping her hands on my shoulders.

“Ok,” I answered, giving her a smile for the first time in two days. She smiled back, gave me a final hug , and kissed me on the cheek, before getting back in the limo. The driver too got back into the limo and drove away.

umm i should of maybe explaid some background before the chapter so it makes some sence . This takes place in modern times. Each Link has been adopted when they were less then a year old, and are unaware of being adopted, untill they meet each other at summer camp. I thought it would be interesting to have the chapters from each links prespective because they each live diffrent lives and personalityes.

I noticed you typed "Moon Pearl", an item in ALttP and FSA that allowed entrance to the Dark World.  I never expected that.  Will you provide a backstory on why they were adopted at the tender age of a few months?  All comments aside, I really like this so far.

i actully got the idea for the name of the camp from the four swords adventure. i was looking though my zelda mangas, for zelday type names to use, and it just struck me as a good name to use and yes i will be providing a back story to that. it will be in a later chapter, after the boys find out that there are four of them. these first four chapter will be an introdution to the four link, one for each boys arrivel at camp.

Chapter 2 - Getting to camp

“Look, there’s the camp,” I said, pointing across Lake Hylia to a camp, on the opposite side, with my head out the front passenger window. “How much longer before we get there?” I asked, curiously. I pulled my head back in the car and turned to look at my mom, who was driving.

“Another twenty minutes or so,” she answered, glancing at the clock in the dashboard. “Are you exited?” she asked, glancing over at me.

“Yeah, I can’t wait,” I answered, my eyes instantly lighting up and a grin appearing on my face. I’d been looking forward to going to Camp Moonpearl for several weeks. Now that I was on my way, I was tingling with excitement and anticipation. It was going to be so much fun, meeting new people, and making new friends.

“You’re not nervous at all are you?” she asked, glancing over again. “Being away from home for eight weeks, in a new place with no one familiar there, so far from home,” she added, starting to sound concerned. It was the first time I’d be away from home for more than twenty four hours, and she was just worried about her only son and child.

“Yeah, I’ll be ok,” I assured her, turning back to the window and resting my head on my arms, where the window used to be. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the wind on my face. I fell asleep like that and slept the rest of the way there. I was to exited to sleep much the night before and was up early that morning because we had a long drive to the camp.

                                                                              *   *   *

“Link, Link,” Mom called, standing in front of the passenger side door. She was shaking me gently on the shoulder, trying to wake me up. “wake up Link, we’re here,” she said continuing to shake me.

“Mmm…what?” I asked, groggily. Rubbing my eyes and still half asleep, I raised my head up and looked at her.

“I said, we’re here,” Mom answered, looking back at me, with a kind expression. “Come on, up,” she added, seeing that I was drifting back to sleep, and giving me a final shake. It took another few moments before I was fully awake and out of the car. I followed my mom to the back of the car and eagerly retrieved my bags from the trunk. I set them down on the sidewalk, so I could give my mom a hug and kiss goodbye.

“You have a good time at camp,” she said, hugging me a little tighter then she normally would have, and tighter then I would have liked. “I’m going to miss you, don’t forget to call every so often, and let me know how you’re doing,” she added, finally letting go of me.

“I’m going to miss you too, but don’t worry, it’s only for eight weeks, then I’ll be home again,” I said, grinning. “And I’ll call you as often as I can,” I added, to reassure my concerned parent, that it wouldn’t be almost the whole summer, before she talked to me again.

“Alright, see you in eight weeks, be good and I love you,” She replied, kissing me on the cheek.

“I love you too,” I said back, as she got into the car. She smiled and waved, before pulling out and driving toward the front gate. I smiled and waved goodbye till she was out of the front gate and out of sight.

Chapter 3 - staying out of trouble

“Are we there yet?” I asked, for what felt like the twentieth time. I was sitting in the backseat of my parents old car, playing Super Mario Bros. 64 DS on my blue DS original. Both the system and the game were a bit out of data, especially the system, but I was lucky to even own them, so I wasn’t complaining.

“No, Link,” my mom replied, sounding a little irritated of answering the same question over and over. We’d been on the road since seven in the morning, and every couple hours or so I’d drop that question. She was sitting in the passenger seat in front of me, and my dad was driving.

“Another fifteen minutes and we’ll be there,” my dad said. “If you look out your window, I think you can see the camp from here,” he added glancing out my mom’s window.

“Oh yeah, there it is ,” I said, looking up from my game and out the window. “Why am I going to camp again?” I asked, looking over at my parents with a skeptical look.

“To keep you out of trouble this summer,” Mom answered, looking at me in the visor mirror. Her expression stated that I shouldn’t even think about misbehaving while at camp.

“Oh…yeah,” I replied back, remembering all to well the talk I had with them, after the last phone call from my principal. The conversation, like many I’ve had before, had involved being told to watch my temper. Since the fifth grade, I’d been getting into a lot of trouble at school. Mostly fights that other kids started or on occasion that I started to help some poor kid being bullied. The conversation also involved being told that spending the summer outside the city would be good for my emotional wellbeing, whatever that means.

I returned to my game and spent the rest of the way there lost in game world. I was on the chests in the current star, when we arrived at Camp Moonpearl. My dad pulled into the drop off area and we got out of the car. I went to the trunk with my dad and got my bags. Then we walked back to where my mom was standing. I put my bags down and allowed her to give me a hug.

“We’re going to miss you,” she said, letting go.

“Yes, we will and have a good summer,” Dad said, giving me a kind smile.

“Yeah, I will,” I answered back in a flat tone. “And I guess I’ll miss you too,” I added with a smile.

“Remember to behave yourself while you’re here,” Mom said, after pulling me into another hug. “If any of the counselors call saying you’ve been in any fights, you’re going to be in so much trouble when you get home,” She continued, as I managed to free myself from her grasp.

“Yes mom, I know. I promise, I won’t get into any fights while I’m here,” I replied back in an irritated tone. I’d been hearing the “behave yourself while you’re there or else” speech, since they told me I was going to Camp Moonpearl.

“Well, we’ll see you in eight weeks then,” she said, with a kind smile and a rub on the shoulder, before getting in to the car.

“Have fun, and don’t forget to let us know how your doing,” Dad said, putting his hand on  my shoulder.

“I won’t,” I replied, in a dull, board tone, and looking annoyed.

He smiled in response and ruffled my hair, before saying a final good bye. I watched as he got into the car, started the engine, and drove off toward the direction of home.

Chapter 4 - Summer Camp Intead of Camping

“Is that Camp Moonpearl?” I asked, as a camp on the other side of lake Hylia came into view. I was sitting in the front passenger seat of my fathers car, watching the scenery roll by.

“Yeah that’s Camp Moonpearl,” my father answered, taking a quick glance at the directions, then out my window.

“That’s the same summer camp we pass on our way to our campsite, isn’t it?” I asked, getting the felling that I’d seen the camp before, and the way we were going to get to the camp seeming so familiar.

“Yes it is, we just didn’t know the name of the camp until you decided to go to Camp Moonpearl, and I needed to find out were it was and how to get there. We have to turn right off of this road to get there. Unlike when we go to our campsite,” he informed me. “If we were going to our campsite, we would continue following this road up Mount Crenel passing lake Hylia,” he finished, using his right hand to point as he talked, while keeping his left on the steering wheel.

“I wish we could have gone camping this summer,” I said, looking over at him with a disappointed look. Every summer, for as long as I could remember, we’d go camping on Mount Crenel. It was something I looked forward to at the end of every school year. Camping was a good way to spend quality time, with my dad, without things like work or school getting in the way. This summer however, my father was being sent to Holodrum, to help with problems  they’d been having with neighboring countries. So it was agreed that I could go to summer camp, to kind of make up for not being able to go camping.

“I wish we could have too,” Dad replied, in a sympathetic tone, glancing at me with the same expression I wore and a weak smile.

I returned the smile, then reached into my shorts pocket and took out my black 3DS, wish there was a green one though. I spent the last leg of the trip playing Super Mario 3D Land. I was on world four when we arrived. We parked in the drop off area, I put my 3DS back in my pocket, and we got out of the car. My dad and I went to the trunk and retrieved my bags. I set them down on the sidewalk and gave Dad a good bye hug.

“I’ll see you before school starts, right,” I asked, letting go and looking up at him with a pleading look. The plan was that if my father wasn’t back before summer camp was over, I was going to have to spend the rest of the summer, and into the school year, with my grandparents until he came back.

“Depends on how long it takes to get everything sorted out,” he answered, smiling back at me. “You just have fun this summer, and you can call me if you need to, alright,” he added, placing his hand on my shoulder.

“Alright,” I relied, smiling back. It was nice to know that even when Dad wasn’t around, he was always just a phone call away.

“See you when I get back,” he said, ruffling my hair. After that he got back in the car, started the engine, and gave me one last smile and wave before pulling out and driving toward the front gate. I waved back and watched him until he turned out of the camp and in the direction of home.

all the links have been introduced now we can start getting into the good stuff.

Chapter 5 - An Unexpected Surprize

I picked my bags up and walked into the camp. There were a lot of kids, talking to one another, looking for friends, and waiting to find out what cabin they would be in. Not feeling much like socializing, I simply walked over to a bench and sat down with my stuff. Though I was no longer upset with my parents, that didn’t mean I wanted to be there anymore then I did earlier that day.

Not longer after I’d sat down, a woman with a clipboard had come over to me. She was wearing a button down shirt and cap with the name of the camp on it. It was obvious that she was one of the counselors. I figured that she was there to tell me what cabin I was assigned to. Sure enough she asked me for my name with a kind smile. I simply told her that I was Link Evenstin.

She looked down at her clipboard, and ran her index finger down a list of names. She then told me I would be in cabin thirteen and pointed in the direction of the lake. Cabin thirteen was one of the few cabins that was situated were the woods ended and the beach began.

I went inside and found that there were four beds placed in each corner of the room, indicating that I would be sharing the cabin with three others. I also found that I was the only person there, so I went to the bed in the far left corner, put my stuff down and then, went outside to walk around and look over the rest of the camp.

It had most of the things I had expected. There were courts for kids to play things like Basketball, Tennis, and Four Corners. There was a dock for canoeing and a place to go swimming. There were the other cabins of course, a mess hall, a first aid building, and a main building, were all the administrative stuff for the camp went on. This is going to be a long summer, I thought to myself. Other then the prospect of learning some new things about the woods and the animals that lived in them, I was uninterested in the camp activities.

After walking around the camp for a while, I decided to take a rest under a pine tree, at the edge of the woods, looking out toward the lake. I sat down, in the shade of the tree, and decided that since I left the book I was reading at the cabin, it would be a good time to play Mario’s Picross. I took my purple 3DS out of my pocket and right away noticed that I had a street pass, via the indicator light on the hinge. So I opened it up, and clicked the notification icon with my stylist. According to it I had two new passes, so I went to my Mii plaza.

Once in the Mii plaza, I noticed that both the tagged miis were named Link and looked identical apart from the color of their shirts. This was very puzzling to me, since my mii was also named Link and also looked identical to the others aside from the color of the shirt. Writing it of as just a strange coincidence, I retrieved puzzle pieces from the two and then played Mario’s Picross.

After twenty minutes of playing I decided it was time to go back to the cabin. I saved what I was doing and closed the software, before closing the system and placing it back in my pocket. I then got up and headed in the direction of my assigned cabin. After a five minute search for cabin thirteen, I walked up to the door and placed my hand on the doorknob, but didn’t open it. I could hear voices on the other side of the door.

Sounds like my cabin mates have arrived, I thought to myself, a slightly irritated look coming across my face. Having to live in a cabin with three other kids for eight weeks, was the part of camp I was least looking forward to. I also wasn’t to found of the idea of having to introduce myself to them either. But I couldn’t avoid it forever, so letting out a sigh, I opened the door and walked in.

The three boys, I would be sharing the cabin with, turned to the direction of the door upon hearing me come in, and after shutting the door, I turned around to face the room, so I could get a good look at the kids I would be spending the next eight weeks with, and got a shock that would change my life.

The first two boys ironically, for the situation I was in anyway, were identical twins. They had light brown hair, hazel eyes, and each boy wore a dark blue t-shirt, one with a J on it and the other with a T on it. They were looking from me to the third boy with identical shocked looks on each of their faces.

The third boy looked like he could be my identical twin. He had the same blond hair, the same blue eyes, the same nose, the same mouth, and the same pointed ears, that distinguished the two of us as members of the Hylian race. It was almost like looking in a mirror except he was wearing a red t-shirt, with Mario’s face on it, jean shorts, and red sandals, while I was wearing a light purple t-shirt, a souvenir from when Rose took me to one of those tours of Hyrule castle, Khaki shorts, socks and sneakers.

“You must be Link Evenstin,” he stated, seeming to have gotten over his initial shock, a smile appearing on his face. “My name’s Link too, isn’t that funny, we share the same name and look alike,” he said, in a cheery version of my own voice.

I must be seeing things was the first thought that came into my head. I had trouble getting to sleep the night before, and spent most it trying to think of a way out of coming here, then was up early that morning because we had a long drive to the camp. So I thought maybe I was hallucinating due to lack of sleep. I walked over to were the “other” Link was standing and poked him a couple of times to be sure he was really there. He was, and now he and the twins were giving me concerned looks.

Ok, he’s really there I must be dreaming then, I thought taking few steps back from him. Hoping that I was about to wake up from this strange dream, I pinched myself hard on the inside of my elbow. I let out an involuntary ow and, rubbing where I’d pinched myself, looked up to see all three boys were still there. I was now even more confused then I was when I came back into the cabin. Who was this kid? Was he my doppelganger or a long lost twin I didn’t know about? I was starting to feel like I was in the twilight zone or something.

“Wh-who are you?” I asked, speaking for the first time since coming into the room.

“I told you,” the boy said, a smile reappearing on his face. “I’m Link, Link Oken and you must be Link Evenstin cause those are your bags there aren’t they,” he continued, pointing behind him at the bed that I had indeed put my stuff on. “And the tags say Link Evenstin on them, so if there really your bags then that must be your name,” he finished, confident that his rationalization must be right.

“And we’re Josh and Tim,” the twin wearing the shirt with the J on it stated, pointing first to himself then to his twin, not wanting to be left out of the introductions.

“Now are you Link Evenstin or not,” his twin asked, his eyes still shifting from me to the other Link. “And why do you two look alike,” he added, a tone of confusion in his voice.

“Yes, I’m Link Evenstin,” I answered, finally over the shock from earlier and returning to my usual, calm self. “And I don’t know why we look alike, but as far as can tell there are only two possibilities,” I said looking back at the three boys in front of me. “The first possibility is that we’re doppelgangers, the second more likely possibility is that we’re twins and were separated at a very young age,” I concluded, focusing my gaze on my look alike.

“What’s a doppelganger and separated how,” Link asked, with a very confused expression, struggling to comprehended the large word I had just used.

“A doppelganger is someone who looks just like you but is unrelated and most likely separated because of a divorce,” I answered, rolling my eyes at his lack of understanding.

“Oh, ok,” he replied, satisfied with my explanation. “Ya know we’re going to need a way to know who’s talking to who since we’re both named Link,” he said, thoughtfully. “I know how about we have nicknames,” he exclaimed, a light bulb seemed to have gone off in his head, and his face lit up with excitement. “My favorite color is red and I always wear a red shirt of some kind, how about you, cause if you always wear you favorite color, then I have the perfect idea for nicknames,” he said, talking extremely fast, and looking at me with a huge smile and eyes the size of dinner plates.

I looked at the other two boys for help, but they simple nodded in approval of the excited boy’s idea. So with some reluctance I told them my favorite color was purple and that most of my shirts did tend to be some shade of that color. At this point Link was overcome with excitement.

“That settles it then, since I usually wear red, I’ll be Red and you can be… not purple, that’s to long compared to your real name, not Violet that’s a girls name,” he said, thoughtfully, while I gave him a funny look, that said I would not answer to violet anyway, and could not believe he would even consider calling me that. “How about Vio?” he asked, smiling.

“Alright,” I agreed, nodding. Everything he said did make sense, and something about the nickname I’d been given just clicked. I watched as Red swelled with the pride of having thought of all this himself. This was defiantly something I’d be talking to my parents about when I gave them a call at the end of the week, but as of right then I simply smiled at Red’s contentment of his own genus. After five minutes or so we decided it must be lunch time and the four of us left to go to the mess hall. This was definitely going to be a very interesting summer.

Chapter 6 - Bonding

Two days into camp and I was very much enjoying myself. Josh and Tim were really fun to hangout with, and Vio, even though he spent much of his time reading, or absorbed in some sort of puzzle game, was fun to be around. I had no brothers or sisters, so to think that Vio and I might be siblings was exciting, I and spent much of my time since meeting him with a big grin on my face. I couldn’t wait till Friday, when we’d be talking to our parents about the situation, and finding out weather or not we were related.

This day however, the twins and I were going to go canoeing. After arriving at the dock, we decided that we wanted to partisapate in a canoe race that was going to be held at noon, but we needed four people and were one short.

“Now what,” Tim asked, playing with the sand in front him, as we sat on the beach trying to think of a solution to our problem.

“We could get Vio,” I answered, looking over at the edge of the wood, where he was sitting under a large pine tree, reading. “If he comes, we’ll have enough people to race with,” I said, smiling. I got up and ran over to where Vio was sitting, with the other two trailing behind me. I stopped just short of Vio and stood in front of him smiling, as the twins started to catch up. “Hey Vio, will you come canoeing with us?” I asked, hoping that it was going to be as simple as asking that one question.

“No,” he calmly answered, not even looking up from his book.

“Awe, but we need another person, so we can compete in the canoe race at noon,” I said, my smile fading, replaced a looking of disapointment.

“That’s too bad, but I’m in the middle of something right now, maybe later,” he replied, still looking down at his book.

“Come on please, we really want to be in the race,” I pleaded, giving him a pleading look, with sad puppy eyes. The look worked on him yesterday and the day before when I wanted him to come join us, so I had no doubt that it would work now.

Sure enough, upon hearing the pleading tone in my voice, Vio reluctantly looked up from his book and seeing my sad pleading face, let out a sigh and said, “Alright, just let me put my book away and I’ll meet you by the dock.”

“Ok,” I replied, perking up, a smile returning to my face. Vio gave a small smile, upon seeing my exitment,as he got up and headed toward the cabin. Five minutes later, the four of us were signed up for the race and assigned as entry six. At noon, we got into our canoe and went to the starting line. Vio was our team leader, so he was sitting in the front of the canoe, while I sat behind him and the twins sat behind me.

At the sound of the whistle, six canoes moved off from the starting line. The goal was to make it to the small island that marked the entrence to the water temple and back. The winning team would receive fifty dollar gift cards to Tingle’s Fabulus Toy Emporium. Second and third place would recive ten and five dollar gift cards.

Right from the start, we passed three of the other teams, putting us in third. Halfway to the island we passed second, but no matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t seem to catch up to first. We reached the island only seconds after first and we were starting to catch up. By the time the finish line was only feet away, we were neck and neck for first with the team that had been ahead of us.

“We’re almost there, if we all paddle just a little faster, maybe we can gain enough speed to pull ahead and win,” Vio said, not taking his eyes off the finish line. Hearing the ditermination in his voice, the other two and I started to paddle as fast as we could. It didn’t seem to make much difference at first, but as the finish line came closer, I could see that we were starting to pull ahead and a smile started to come across my face. We crossed the finish line a few feet ahead of the other team, winning the race. Third, fourth, and fifth crossed the finish line seconds behind us and sixth crossed a whole minute after everybody else.

“We won, we won,” I cheered, jumping out of the canoe, a huge grin on my face. Josh and Tim were grining too, and even Vio wore a triumphant, satisfied smile.

“Yeah, we did,” Josh exclaimed, shooting his fist in the air in triumph. “I didn’t think we were going to,” he said, as he got out of the canoe with his brother and came over to stand next to me.

“But we did,” Tim added, coming over to stand in between his brother and Vio, who was standing on the other side of me. “And we wouldn’t have done so without Vio,” he said, looking over at the boy standing to his right.

“We won because we worked together, not because of a single person,” Vio stated, crossing his arms and looking at each of us in turn.

“Yeah, but we wouldn’t have been in the race at all, if you hadn’t agreed to come with us,” I pointed out. “If you think about it that way, then Tims right, we wouldn’t have won without you,” I said, smiling at Vio.

“Yeah, but I’m sure you would have found someone else if I hadn’t agreed to come,” Vio said, looking from me to the twins. His smile had faded and he seemed as though he was uncomfortable with the situation he found himself in.

“We don’t know anyone else,” I replied. “If you hadn’t agreed to come, we would have been out of luck,” I added, my smile fading too.

“You really think I would leave you out of luck?” he asked, a kind smile appearing on his face. “When I heard how desprit you sounded, I couldn’t say no,” he said. “Plus who could say no, when you’re giving them such a sad look, he added, chuckling. “Anyway if you really need me I wouldn’t leave you out of luck,” he finished.

“It’s nice to know you’ll always be there if I need you,” I replied, my smile coming back and my whole expresion brightening up.

“Hey, if you two are done with your moment there do you think we could go collect our prizes and trophie,” Josh asked, impatiently. He was smiling and had a happy experesion on his face.

“Yeah lets,” I replied, grinning at the thought of having a fourty dollar gift card to the largest toy store chain in the country. We went over to the counselor who was in charge of the canoe race and each recived a gift card and a first place medle.

We spent the rest of the day hanging out on the beach. We built an awesome sand castle, went swimming and even managed to talk Vio into letting us bury him in the sand . All and all it was a fun afternoon and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen the next day.

what do you guys think of this chapter?
There will be more plot progretion next chapter when Green and Blue meet each other.
