Has anybody ever played a game that still kept you thinking when completed or changed the way you view certain things in life? In other words, what game(s) have affected you personally?
Mine would probably be Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for its dark atmosphere and the skull kid's overall desire to just find someone to call a friend.
I've always liked the Storyline of Final Fantasy VIII (Yes I mean 8, not 7) and I wouldn't doubt if certain aspects of it changed my point of view on life.
Currently Playing-------------- Halo 4, Borderlands 2
I've grown up with Pokémon, so it's had a huge impact on me and my childhood. Still play it now. I have almost all the games.
Kingdom Hearts... The first time I played it was at my best friend's house. He put KH1 on the PS2, we played it for a bit, and I absolutely loved it even though we only played the 'prologue' sort of part before we had to get off it. After that, I couldn't remember the name of the game. I never thought to ask. That was in 2004/2005. Now... four, maybe even five years later, I went into GAME to get some worthwhile videogames with my money I'd received for Birthday/Christmas. Looked around on the shelves, and the one thing that caught my eye was the DS game of 'Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days'. Straight away I remembered it as the series that I'd played on my friend's PS2 years back. Naturally, I bought it (alongside a Harry Potter:HBP game for the DS), got home and played it almost immediately. It was nothing like the game I'd played on PS2 obviously, but I love/d it nevertheless and was just happy I'd finally rediscovered the series. Also developed and still have a major crush on Axel. Yes he's a KH character, no I don't care. c: He's miiiine. Anyway, since then, I've bought myself a PS2 solely for buying myself KH1 & 2. I've bought Re:Coded to play alongside Days on my DS, and my current best friend gave me his PSP a couple of months ago so that I could finally get myself a copy of BbS and play through that KH game too. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is coming out here (England) on Friday, and I've pre-ordered it. The friend I played KH with moved to Wales... :,\ I miss him. But we manage to email each other once or twice a year. xP
Currently Playing-------------- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, inFAMOUS2, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Heavy Rain
The first sytem I owned was a gameboy advance. The two games that really impacted me were Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 and Pokemon Firered.
Later on, I found an N64 at a garage sale I got a N64(and also an NES but I was a stupid kid and sold it because it looked outdated) and got to play Donkey Kong 64, Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.
Currently Playing-------------- Do you really want me to show you the whole list?
Moral wise no. But it did teach me that Strategy is always better than brute force. My brother doesn't believe me, he can't even beat one Final Fantasy game.
Currently Playing-------------- Stop replacing my siggy!!!
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I know how terribly cliche it sounds, but it's true. Considering it was one of the only games I ever played as a child, it kinda makes sense that it would affect me.
Currently Playing-------------- Just Cause 2, Dishonored, Assassin's Creed 3
Jet Grind Radio got me interested in graffiti, which led to art in general. Going for an illustration/animation career now!
Space Channel 5. It reminded me that no matter how bad a situation gets, you can find a way to resolve it. (I totally dance my problems away such as the game does ) Also to not take life so seriously.
Both games showed my ears a variety of music (which really got me into so). Thanks to these two, I have music on pretty much all of the time.
There have been a few games that changed me. Not necessarily the games, but the experiences I've had with others while playing those games. Pokemon, Animal Crossing and Left 3 Dead. Pokemon helped me make new friends at school and at daycare when I didn't know how to myself. Animal Crossing helped me realize that life sucks, but you can always make do and mend. Left 4 Dead showed me that even when you fight with your friends, a little zombie killing will fix things back to normal.
Currently Playing-------------- NES/SNES/N64/GC/WII/PS/PS2/360/GB/GBA/DS/3DS
Grand Theft Auto III and Morrowind. Both games changed the way I view video games. After playing them I realized just how much I prefer open word games. I like exploring and the joy of discovery that the open world games provide.
Currently Playing-------------- Animal Crossing New Leaf
Paper Mario: TTYD. It helped me increase my vocabulary so much, and is honestly a big reason why I enjoy reading/writing so much today. I also credit AC:GC with this.
Animal Crossing for the GameCube really drew my brothers and my cousin close during a hard time in our lives during 2008-2009. We still look back on those times every now and then, and laugh together, because of all the great memories of that game and the inside jokes we had about it.
Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie brings back childhood memories of watching my dad play---it's what introduced me to video-games in the first place. So morally, these games haven't really benefited me, but they have had an impact on my life, in many ways.
Currently Playing-------------- Animal Crossing, City Folk, Paper Mario
