I know there was a thread for error codes but I couldn't seem to find and answer to my question. So I have a 3DS and my 3ds is connected to the Internet and works great! But when I play acww I keep getting error code 51099 every time I try and receive my new friend code, anyone have and ideas? Please help(:

Your internet connection is probably WPA. WPA connections are compatible with the 3DS, but not with DS games like AC:WW. DS games require a WEP or unsecured connection.
So you will have to either change your connection type (which requires access to the router settings) or not be able to wifi on WW.

Do you know if you have a WEP, WPA, or WPA2 router connection?; If you have WPA2 (or possibly WPA), you will not be able to connect to Nintendo WFC and get a friend code. This also happened to me, and now I cannot WiFi on WW either.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

My Conection is Wep:/ That's why I'm so stumped!
I have access to the router information if I need to look something else up. I use to have jut a ds and the same router and it worked great!

There are two areas you have to enter a WEP code on the 3DS... One is for the 3ds system itself... the second one is for previous Nintendo DS systems/games which is different... Ok so when you click on Internet Settings there is a big blue button that says "Connection Settings", that is the one specifically for the 3ds... but there are three other options there as well... Select the one that says "Nintendo DS Connections" this is the one that is tied to the older DS games... Click "Nintendo Wifi Connection Settings" then "Connection 1" or one that isn't connected to a wireless network (it will either say "ready" or "none" below the connection number) Click "Search for an Access Point" It will then search for the access point and go from there... make sure you have your WEP code ready to enter after you search for an access point... I hope I have helped you and if I have been anyway confusing please let me know, I am a bit "techy" and can over explain myself sometimes...

Question? Will AC3DS support WPA2?

Yes it does support WPA... the only problem is if you want to play older ds games, I actually have a router that supports both. So I can play both 3ds games and ds games alike. I have a router that allows me to have a regular connection (WPA) and a guest connection which I have set up as a WEP for my AC:WW and other ds games... The thing is any games pre 3ds only use WEP and any games post 3ds will support any connection (WEP or WPA)...
