Background to Username: I used to play Neopets a lot when I was younger, and an online friend and I decided to create an account together, and she created the name "aldericon". I like it a lot, having a liking to unusual names, and started using it as a username.

Background to Avatar: Celeste was always my favorite character, because she seemed like a bookworm and a nerd, so I associated myself with her. As for my background, blue is my favorite color.

A little bit about me: I grew up in northeastern Massachusetts, and I'm currently a Freshmen studying Computer Science at college. I'm on the Equestrian Team and have competed at several competitions, winning various ribbons. I love playing around with new technology, as I have recently acquired a iPhone 4 and an Apple TV. Some of my favorite books and authors include Tamora Pierce, Harry Potter Series, Twilight Series, Merlin Trilogy, Alyson Noel, Jeff Smith and the Inkworld Trilogy. In my free time I've often spent on my computer, programming, watching movies, playing video games, or reading.

That would be Aly, from Tamora Pierce's Trickster Series. She's a sixteen year old girl who is an intelligent spy, but always acts carelessly since she's the youngest in her family. She gets taken by pirates and sold to a foreign island kingdom, where their god wants her to help the slaves overcome their masters.

There's more to the story then that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daughter_of_the_Lioness), but she often reminded me of myself - smart, associating with adults, and wanting to make her own path in the world.
