Hiya, when i connect to the internet on DSi everything is fine, can go on the web etc.. but when i test my connection with Animal crossing ds It doesn't seem to "find the access point" it also says to check my WEP key. How do I find out my WEP key?

Well if your using a router then turn it up side down and you'll see a sticker the numbers that are in brackets should have your WEP key. Hope that helps.

Thanks Fwankie but nothing was on theree, a security number was, a serial number and a Mac number? are any of these another name for a WEP key by any chance?

The problem is, your connection is probably secured using WPA. The DS games cannot support this. The DSi can, which is why you are able to browse the web, etc. You need to get someone to change it to WEP.

Okay, I have changed it to WEP before and it came up with 4 keys (which had loads of numbers and letters after it) and I typed in the first Key and it still said you cannot connect with this access point?

What model is your router? Provide the model number as well.

I have a NetGear Router and the model number is : (sorrry I don't know where to find it:L?)

I am afraid to say AC doesn't work with most netgear  routers because it is WPA and sometimes you can't change the router to WEP.

The model number is GN2000

When you see your connection on the DS, what color is the lock? <-Click there and tell me either Blue, Pink, or Grey.

If it's grey, your security is not compatible with the DS games.

I think the lock is grey!
It wont let me screen shot, but this is what it looks like :

WEP security encryption

Authentication Type: automatic
Encryption Strength:: 128 bit

WEP key

Passphrase:_________ (generate)
key1:65CA12E1EA
Key2:87DS34D2ER

etc..etc..

We pretty much have the same setup.

Where is says Authentication type, is there something there that says Shared Key? Select that one if there is.

Also, I'd suggest changing it to 64 bit wep, then type in your 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F in the Passphrase slot. Then go to the DS and type in the numbers and letters of key 1. That should do the trick.

EDIT: nvm, i figured it out. i went to the NETGEAR homepage and found out wat to do, but used sonichyuga's helpfulness to help out my help...thnx a lot sonic! ur walkthrough helped out lots
