Well you all must be doing something I'm not because I typically saw Gulliver in "Wild World" on a fairly regular basis and I haven't seen him ONCE in "City Folk."

I had a funny experience with Gulliver recently. I spotted him and shot him down, but it looked like he crashed outside of my map! So I sort of gave up on him and later found the cog. I thought I looked all around for him, and he wasn't there.  The next day I got on and talked to one of my townies, Joey, and he mentioned a unconscious seagull was on the beach! So I ran down and there he was! I don't remember if I'd checked there the previous day, but I think I did...

I just want to say thanks to GAMEsiphon for writing this guide and to ACC for hosting it. It is, by far, the best Gulliver/UFO guide I've seen. And thanks to this guide, I was finally able to shoot down Gulliver last week for the first time.

Do balloon presents interfere with Gulliver's appearance?

Gulliver is supposed to fly over at xx:02 or xx:07, but if he doesn't fly over at xx:02 and a balloon present floats into town between then and xx:07, will that mean that Gulliver definitely will not show up at xx:07?

I had assumed that they couldn't both fly by at the same time. But in a picture I just took today, it appears that they can. Here is the pic. I took the picture as I was shooting the slingshot at the UFO. In the distance (right next to my head), there appears to be a balloon present floating by further north. I didn't even notice it at the time, not until I was looking the picture on my computer. I was not on Wi-Fi, so it wasn't a human player carrying a balloon either.

Thanks for the information!  I've started making a concentrated effort to find Gulliver, so it helps to know if something does or doesn't mess with his appearances.

Gulliver once passed right over me!  I was astounded! But when I checked my pockets I didn't have my slingshot...

There is one apparent contradiction in the FAQ though. It says:

"In a day when Gulliver is due to appear you will not see any of the above listed visitors." (Wendell, Pascal, Wisp, Saharah, Gulliver, Pete, Blanca)

And then later says:

"You cannot completely rule out a day with Wendell, Pascal, Wisp, Saharah, or Blanca visiting."

So if the visitors' presence (excluding Pete) doesn't rule out Gulliver, why is the first part saying to look for a day with none of those visitors?  I'm still not 100% clear if Gulliver can come when Wendell, Pascal, et al are in town. That part of the FAQ is a bit confusing.

I can personally confirm that the UFO can still fly by when Kaitlyn/Katie is in town. Kaitlyn was in my town tonight and the UFO flew by and caught me by surprise. I had my slingshot in a letter, so I wasn't able to get to it in time. If the visitors other than Pete have no effect on Gulliver at all, then maybe that whole section in the guide about visitors should be removed (except for the part about Pete, of course). That part has caused some confusion for me, and I'm probably not the only one. Still a very helpful guide though!

I recently found Gulliver too because of this guide so thanks man.

Also Jeff I think its saying that if no one is in town then he is guaranteed to come, while if visitors are in town he can, but dose not have to.

I guess that makes sense, although I still think the guide's wording is a little confusing. But at the very least, I know this line is wrong: "If you see Katie or Kaitlyn then you should have to remove them from your town before you can see Gulliver."

I've just now shot Gulliver down for the first time. YAY!!  I saw his UFO go over my town but my slingshot was in a letter so I got it out and chased him right to the cliff, before I could have a chance to shoot him he disappeared over it. Then I started walking away when he came straight back over !! That time I managed to shoot him down. I also found the spaceship part about 10 minutes later..

The second time Gulliver came over he chose the exact same path so I am not sure if ruling out the same path twice bit is right. Also, I shot him down about 15-20 seconds after it says I can on here which doesn't really make a difference apart from the fact you might actually have a little longer to get him. I also noticed that his ship changes speed so it goes quite fast and then might hover a bit.

The guide also says that he is going to come if no other visitor is in your town, whereas last week, Monday, tuesday and wednesday  there was no one in my town (I checked with booker&NoPascalOrPete, I looked) And the UFO did not come. I checked at all the times he could come xx:02 xx:07 but he never came ..?

i'm still waiting on my first gulliver visit. I'm tired of wisp i get him all the time and he is supposed to be one of the rarest visitors

excuse me, i have a question about gulliver's ufo, does his ufo only show up once an hour in a day or it show up in many random hours in a day his ufo show up? i had his ufo showed up today at 1st ten minute of 1pm earlier today, too disappointed that i took out my slingshot too late to knock his ufo off

I havent seen him yet, but i know what to do when i see him and what to say to him..... i wish he would come...

Ok,on the gamecube version of the game gilliver is a sailor not a spaceman

＠jvgsjef: That is great finding that Gulliver will fly over regardless of Kaitlyn's appearance. I will have to edit that portion of the guide. The section of the guide you brought up which has some ambiguity has been a concern for me as well. I would like to make it more clear, but I cannot without more testing. See, all of the times I have tested Gulliver's arrival, he has never appeared when there are other special visitors in town. From my testing, I concluded he made a pass-over only when there was no other special visitor planned for the day. However, your recent discover suggests otherwise. And I have a couple reputable sources with experiences that say differently as well. So, I kept my guide with an emphasis on what seemed to be the more likely scenario. I felt it would be more helpful for Gulliver hunters.

Abicus:You mentioned a couple days when there were no visitors. And you checked for Pete, Pascal, and Wisp as well? If that is the case then he should have shown up within a couple hours. If it was not a special visitor day then Pete should have been wandering around at his delivery times.

Another note about balloons and Gulliver. If a balloon is floating over town, Gulliver may, in fact, pick the same path. This results in his ship passing right through the balloon which would make for some interesting photos. I thought I had snapped one, but I cannot seem to find it at the moment.

Wow, great guide!  I now realize there were probably many opportunities I could have shot down Gulliver while I was listening to Pango babble about motion sickness.  

One thing has me baffled.  This guide says 6am until 6am the next day, correct?  My Animal crossing guide says 6am to 6pm which is not a time I normally play.  Is it confirmed Gulliver has indeed flown by after 6pm?  (to be honest, I believe you over my book that I have found other errors in)

This guide is correct. I've shot the UFO down well after 6 p.m. many times.

I don't know how long I've been playing CF, but I have never seen Gulliver's spaceship.  I won't be hearing it either, I suspect, because I can't stand the constantly playing "music" so I have my TV turned WAY down.  I wish there was a way, like in other games, to cut out the background music.  But .... alas .....  Knowing my luck, Gulliver's spaceship noise would be considered background music if cutting that out were an option.

Or if I could change the music to something I enjoyed hearing.

Nice guide! I always get a nervous reaction whenever I see him fly over. What can I say? He's always been so random.

I saw Gulliver after 6pm, but I wasn't anywhere close to shoot him down. This is my 4th town and I only got him once in my first town. I was running around with my slingshot looking for balloons when I saw his shadow and shot him down. I think it was a lucky fluke, because I didn't even know about him at the time.

I got a big surprise today when I was preparing to deliver. I looked up and there I saw Gulliver travelling across my screen! I sadly had dropped the Golden Slingshot and I had no time to follow him. The time was 9:27pm
