OKay so i was checking out the forums here on ACC right?
I get a pop-up saying that I have a mandatory check in issued by the
military (sounds legitimate?)
now there is supposedly a deadly virus that no comp has a cure for yet according to the message.
It has a button that says "protect my comp"
SO I click it and it says free virus cleaner.
It downloads in 7 seconds and I get a message saying:
"WARNING WINDOWS HAS DETECTED A DEADLY VIRUS WAS JUST DOWNLOADED INTO YOUR COMPUTER
YOU HAVE 7 TROJAN WORMS 2 SAPPHIRES AND IT HAS INFECTED THE MAIN HARD DRIVE!!!!

Lucky for me I have a good program.
BUT! this was obviously a fake because guess what it said downloaded the virus???
Bingo The "Militarys anti virus program"

I'm sorry ACC admins but you've just been used to host a virus.

Um, were you on another website while you were on ACC?

IT's safe to click so you know what I mean but watch as it says your loaded with viruses and BEGS you to downlaod it.

No Offence. But it was a pretty stupid idea to actually acknowledge it. Like, is it not simple enough, obviously, it was a virus.

I'm afraid norton can't handle this one.
It's a sapphire I think but a newer version.
THEY MAKE MORE OF THESE STUPID THINGS DAILY!!!

WHY MAKE A PROGRAM TO BREAK OTHER PEOPLES STUFF IT'S SO DARN STUPID!!!!

Okay Check for all the updates to norton you can get.
And smartgirl1  I suggest you get a demo or free trial at least.
These things suck.
And you get them in your not getting them out.


I should tell you guys also.
There is a new virus that downloads um...a certain kind of pictures
(to keep it family friendly)
and then reports you to the police.
Of course thats what I just found when I googled fake anti virus report.

I clicked your link and then ran a Norton scan. It found one tracking cookie that it killed in about 3 seconds.

I also clicked your link, and Windows Security Essentials blocked it completely, whereas there was nothing to report after a scan.

BTW are u sure it was safe to click the link? Cos when i did it started loading a bar immediatly.

MY BROTHER'S FRIEND GOT THAT! He wasn't reported to the police though

You have to download the program to get the virus.
And it dosen't show up on norton.
I just deleted the program.
I don't know if It's still in here or not.
And norton dosent even pick up dusts yet.
It's better to be wrong and get no virus but a checked out thing.
Than to be right and we all need a new comp right?
Just wait it out and see what they say I turned it in.

Did you hear about the virus killer?
someone at the virus stoppers is developeing a Virus that KILLS!
other viruses.
It just aims for viruses and then self destructs.

I'm not sure. I ran a virus scan, just in case. You should probably do that

Whenever you are on the internet, you are always downloading. Visiting a site is downloading. Viewing a pic is downloading. How else would people get viruses for visiting just sites??

I meant like download it onto my computer, like programs.

Oh right. I download vids and pics. But i am extremerly cautious after a few bad experiences with viruses. (Tristan, i can PT u if u want and tell u about them.) I only download vids from youtube, through a safe program.

By Clicking on that Website your Technically Downloading the Thing Blind.

As I said.
Would you rather wait a few minutes for a scan and an ivestigation.
and be wrong and it was just being too careful.
Or to say it was nothing and turn your comp off for good.
Yeah check a few emails...Chat it up with buds.
Go to bed.
Tommorow when you load up...
You get a screen saying "THNX FOR TRYING THE COMP BUSTER!!!"

But a virus is no guess.
If you looked around the right places you probably have the entire ACC
site downloaded into your comp in one visit.
