I just bought a Wii and am asking for ACCF for Christmas. I will probably wifi every so often, but not frequently. What do you think of Wii Speak while playing ACCF? Is it a must have, or not worth it?
I only use it when I play with my real-life friends. It's worth it if you have people you play with regularly, and especially if you don't have a keyboard.

It is great. Three family members and their kids all played in my world on Halloween and it was like all of us was in the same room. We didn't have to pass the phone to talk -- we just talked. Be aware you really can hear everything. Dogs barking, phones ringing etc. It feels like we are visiting not just calling some one. You would never catch my daughter and me wearing dresses or fishing in real life but it has become our thing to do - we live 3,000 miles apart.

I haven't used mine yet, but when I about to buy a used Animal Crossing: City Folk copy for 40 dollars, I noticed a new copy for 50 dollars, with Wii Speak mic included. So, rather than buying used and later thinking about buying the mic, I decided new with mic for 50 bucks was a pretty good deal for me.
I wanna use it, but I'm shy with strangers, so maybe one day when I finally feel brave, comfortable, or tired of chatting with the Wii mote. Heh.

I have one but I don't use it often, espically since I learned that you can plug in the keyboard...but I don't use it because I get shy. I would use it if I Wified with family though. But the keyboard is much eaiser for me to feel comfortable. However, my 4 y/o plays with a little girl and she speaks to the little girl since she can't type. So I think it is helpful because using the wiimote to type is difficult.

I have a Wii speak but haven't yet used it. I just really haven't had the time to wifi with both full-time job and grad school and other activities besides games. Then when I do play the game, I just want to have the time to myself.
Still, I think it will be very worth it for those times when I may wifi in the future. I've played various mmorpgs and eventually got talked into using teamspeak and ventrilo for various guild and group events and it turned out to actually be fun.
At the time I bought it, I got my wii speak bundled with animal crossing for less than what it cost for just the animal crossing game.

I met alot of players here with Wii speak. I don't often use it and also it depends on the other party if they want to use it too. Alot of the players I met here have it but they mute their mics. But there are alot too that are very friendly and they want to talk to you live.
I would suggest to get it, I'm sure you'll have fun using it with either friends or family.

Personally, I love the wii speak. I don't really care that much who hears my voice, and it's very convenient to just talk instead of having to type everything. Although, I don't have a keyboard, so it takes me forever to type.
I've used it quite a bit to play with friends and it's been a lot of fun, and really does make you feel like you are fishing together or visiting. I think it's worth it, if you have people who you know you want to talk to. If I didn't know anyone that I WANTED to talk to, I probably wouldn't have bothered with it. Good luck!

I don't have wii speak, but I'm a fast typer, so I can talk to my friends who do have wii speak without too much of a problem. In fact there are times that I type too fast for them and I have to retype what I put in. I also have 2 kids that can be quite loud at times in the background and don't want my friend(s) to have to listen to them all the time.

I love mine. Not only is it a blast to chat with friends, it makes it simpler to explain tips and how-to's. It can take forever to type how to do something in the game, not to mention if they have questions you have to try and answer in the limited type space. I have met alot of new friends because of wii-speak. Because you are talking to them, you can get to know each other better than if you were to only type it out.

If you do get Wii Speak and have left over money I suggest getting a wireless keyboard as well. It's good to have as a backup just in case someone doesn't allow wii speak in their town or they have a hearing problem. Plus it makes writing letters a million times easier.

I have wii speak as well and love it. I do suggest wii speak and the wireless keyboard b/c typing can be a pain. I actually got my CF w/ wii speak for less than you can buy the game for, so I was very happy w/ that purchase.

you do not have to have one, but when you are visiting a friends town you can play the game and chat . You do not have to stop playing to type what you wish to say, I think it makes the game a lot more enjoyable to play
Signature-------------- Just restarted my town after 2 years, hope to visit with my old friends! Older players only please, I have Wii speak and love it makes game easier
I have both the Wii speak and a keyboard. The Wii speak can also be used separately from the game; you have a Wii chat room - invitation only(like your messages). Again; the keyboard is very useful writing letters.
CF and WW characters cannot interact! If you use the DS suitcase to visit a friends town in CF; you are in their town by yourself.....they cannot play, too. I was disappointed when I found that out.

I have the WiiSpeak and have used it with both IRL friends and online friends (IRL friends are people I know In Real Life). I like it a lot. I like the fact that you don't have to yell to be heard - I just sit on my couch (about 6 ft away from the WiiSpeak, and speak in a normal voice). In fact, it can be very annoying and/or distracting if the other party has their speakers turned too loud. You can get feedback and/or "hear" yourself coming out of their speakers!
Parents should supervise children using WiiSpeak with people they don't know IRL, but otherwise, it's GREAT!
