Yes, the Eragon books are definitely worth a read. Too bad I can't say the same for the movie.

The Eragon books are brilliant. They have amazing depth to them and they never get boring, in my opinion. Unfortunately the movie is no where near as good, but you would always view the movie as an alternate universe to the books.

I love it soooo much. I have read all of them about 5 times. They are brilliant. I keep trying to get my sister to read them but she refuses to read anything that I have read. It always seems to transport me to a world of myth and folklore.

Great Series!!! =) Ive read them all like 5 times each lol. I like Eragon the best, Eldest and Brisingr were awesome, but i just like the 1st one the most! =)

It was an amazing book, and the series is great. Although I found much of Brisingi unnecessary to the plotline, even if it helps us readers understand the characters better, it was still a good read. My favorite is Eldest, but I'm warning you, it's a pretty graphic book if you aren't used to that sort of thing.

I love the Inheritence Cycle. The 3 books out so far are absolutely great. I finally got my brother to read em over the summer, and though he was reluctant at first he ended up liking them as well. I'd say go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

The books are great, but the movie was the worst mutalation of any semblance of a scrap of a book I ever saw. They messed it up so badly they can't make a second movie

Yeah, I only watched the movie with some of my other friends who loved the books to make fun of it. =P
I was pretty mad that they can't even make a second movie now...

Eragon is awesome. I read the three books that were already out in less than a month (that month being February). I read Eragon in 5 days, Eldest in 9, and Brisingr in (I think) 11 days.

I've read all three, and love them. They're one of my favourite series of books, and I can't wait for book #4! Arya's probably my favourite character.

I hate to rain on everyones parade, but I did not, in fact, like it. I repeat, I did not like Eragon. Now, before you all mindlessly slaughter me (), here are my reasons:
a) It reads like a bad blend of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and The Cat and The Hat. I think the 15 year old author tried to imitate the works of great authors, but lost his voice on the way. I know about Lord of the Rings. If I'm going to devote time to a book, at least put your own voice into it.
b) The characters are shallow. At one point in the series, the main character can not do what he was asked because "his back hurt." Back pains decidedly do not count as a major plot point. I'm sorry. There is also very little clash between the author and his characters. Maybe they were put into some challenging spots, but none of them ever really fell down on the job. There was not a point in the series were one of the characters had a major character flaw to overcome. Granted, I have not read the last book, so I may be wrong, but still.
you can now start the relentless slaughter.
